nunchakus as self defense weapons.

With lots of practice they can be very useful. I think they look very neat when someone knows how to use them. If not it can look like this.

OW!

Bruce Lee liked them, but I don't. I much prefer the bo(staff) or jo(short staff). :)

i have done that form except with kamas. Nunchakus can be useful now doubt, I do like the escrima/kali sticks and balisong and the bo and jo.

I haven't had use for many weapons not firearms related.

I have had some knife training, sai training, three sectioned staff. I've studied the escrima, boand jo more extensively.

I think they're illegal in some states as well. New York and California.

It's remarkably stupid. :screwloose

Oh I believe they would work, however I would be more worried I would smack myself with one instead of my attacker....lol.

This topic made me remember of this movie from a long time ago, called sidekicks.. nunchakus scene.

You just got to learn how to use it properly. Those things hurt like hell if you don't know what you're doing.

I prefer to stay away from them unless they are part of the curriculum of the art I was learning.

:oops illegal in Florida of all things as well.

I didn't know that. Kind of shocked being how they have pretty relaxed gun laws there.

How about Sai, tonfa, escrima, etc??? Are they illegal?

What is so dangerous about nunchuka that made them illegal? It's two sticks attached by a chain or string for goodness sake! :screwloose

you can use them for martial arts training, but not for a carry around for sd. Like a bowie knife, yes you can own it, but get approached by a cop while you have that thing and they will be a little supsiscious.
