NYC soda ban backfires

Remember the 16oz limit soda by mayor Bloomberg in NYC?

Well, what's happening is they are selling multiple sodas in smaller sizes as a package deal so the person gets more and the seller makes out better since usually smaller stuff is proportionally priced higher. Makes me wonder the true intention of this ban??? Was the opposite effect secretly expected under the guise of "health" in this draconian government intrusion? Now the mayor can get a bigger cut from the sellers' $$$$$

One has to question the motivation behind such a ban. Naturally, since the ban has been over-turned because it was equitably mandated across the board, we'll probably never know Bloomberg's real reasons for the ban.

As it is, one must ponder what product is next on the ban-attempt list.

It's all about power and money. All of it. And this goes for anything any establishment does "for our own good" or "for our safety".

I think they will have to soon get new faux motivation as most people are wising up to that. That is to say, all but the lame-brained entitlement types who believe and live off the government for everything, but not the honest working and self-supporting types.

I know it shouldn't surprise me the waste of taxpayers dollars involved in that action of Bloomberg's, but the ever-increasing encroachment of the nanny state does occasionally surprise me in the sheer audacity of it all. Of course, I should be thankful someone is looking out for our health & well-being, after all, the dumbing down of America has been going on for some years.

On the bright side, as long as the gubberment doesn't reduce by half my Big Mac, I'm fine............... !

Edward, you're a hoot!

My line of thinking towards potential banning: stuffed or Sicilian-style pizza; Death By Chocolate Cake. I'm sure they'll come up with something outrageous - and silly - to ban next.

I still occasionally will enjoy an ice cold Coca Cola, but I'm a coffee & tea drinker.

But I willingly admit to getting fed up with bans against legal products. It makes me consider the so-called powers that be are trying to eradicate legal companies, all in favor of legalizing the currently illegal drugs.

I saw a bumper sticker: "Pay politicians minimum wage ... then we'll see America return"

Gave some food for thought (or should that have been: drink for thought???)

A ban on promoting huge sugary beverages in New York City was set to go into impact on Tuesday, March 12. However, the ban was overturned Monday by a court. Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the town of New York have vowed to appeal the choice.
