11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

14 And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.

this is promised to the children of israel .. do we apply this in the n.t era mainly 12-13

yup but does it apply today in the new cov era
I listed that to give the part of the bible you asked about. I will think of this but we cant take the people so wooden that all of the statements are only for the first audience.

it should nver be used as in you will not experience any hard living /easy living . all the apostles had a very hard life that was due to preaching.. but i do believe if we followed this principal .things would be better

im from pentacostal backgrounds, they didn't teach that it wouldn't.only if after a mistake or things that happen beyond your control, this verse was a reminder that if God placed you there or you find yourself there. He would bless you in that situation if you lean on him.

what is your opinion- minus your church background

what is taught ? many things i come by on my own through study and listening to others. then pondering .i was raised united methodist saved ina gen abpt church that was semi baptist but full blown . i am more non denom .. think about it for your self

I was not raised in the church. this is sheol. i asked the pastor to keep it basic so that the audience who might not understand as a short video on sheol wouldn't be enough. I initiaed the discussion on sheol as he mentions luther's thought on what the prison was and i told him. i also made sure that we wouldnt take a solid position as this is a grey one. i told him alot that isnt in that video about jewish thoughts on paradise, i quoted the sages and what Jesus did say . there isnt much to go on in the tanach. i mention this as i do think and i just havent yet and i ask my pastor who isnt into thinking for you and will take sides despite that.

ie calvin versus arminism. he is calvinist and i am not

Yes. These are promises to His covenant people who return to Him, and are restored.

2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us. 21 Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; 22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Hebrews 13:5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. 7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

What does it matter what a man teaches if it does not line up with the full context of scripture. It only makes them lacking Spiritual knowledge preaching another gospel for which they an all who will believe them be without excuse before the Lord on the day of judgement. There are two doctrines being one of Christ in what He has already taught us and the doctrine of theories of man as one of these doctrines are enmity against God, Romans 8:7.

God did not predestine the man in which individuals would be saved or lost, He predestined the plan how men would be saved, Acts 10:34-35; Eph. 1:3-12; Rom. 8:28-30; 10:9-17.

The word Faith is the Greek word PISTIS and was translated "faith" 239 times. It was also translated "believe" 1537 times. Faith is not only the conviction of God in our lives, it is the trust that we have in Him; that He is who He says He is, and will do what He has promised in our lives. We, through faith, begin to live our lives according to His Word. If we do not apply what we believe to our lives, we do not have faith in what we believe.

Salvation means to be whole mind, body and soul as we surrender our will to God and allow his will to work in our lives by applying Gods word to every aspect of our lives. This allows us to know the mind of Christ and all the promises of God for our own well being so we can face anything that tries to come against us while here on this earth so we can triumph and be victorious through the grace and mercy of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus. Grace pardons us and mercy loves us unconditionally.

From Genesis to Revelation is the word of God to all who will believe in Him and obey His commands. God promises everyone blessings, but also promises cursing, Deuteronomy chapter 27, 28 as God's word does not come back to Him void, Isaiah 55:11, Hebrews 13:8.

I do apologize that this posted four times in a row. I have no idea why this happened, but did correct it.

I don't agree with these blab it and grab it teachings for that has nothing to do with what God has already promised us. God promises us protection against the enemy and provides for our provisions. These are the things we need to be praying for, trusting for as our faith is not in man, but God alone and what He has already spoken.

Jeremiah Chapter 29 is about two letters written to the exiles who were held captive in Babylon. Jeremiah is giving prophecy about not hearkening to the words of the false prophets and diviners that speak among them as God did not send them. This is even true for us today, especially in the latter days.

Vs. 11- starts out by God wanting them that were held captive in Babylon to have thoughts of peace, not evil and to have hope in their latter end. From there on God is telling them to seek Him, pray, trust and have faith in Him that they will be found of Him and will destroy their enemies. Also the same promise for us in the end of days.

Those same promises found in the OT are for all who will have faith and trust in God from generation to generation. We are not to fall prey to the false prophets and diviners in the end of days in whom Christ will destroy on the last day when He returns. We are to Spiritually discern what others are teaching as there are only two spirits that operate as one is truth and the other error that can cause ones own damnation of possible.

God's word never changes nor His promises for those who are obedient to His commands.

Hi Jerry,,,
I believe that the entire bible is for everyone....at least all the Moral parts of the bible and the parts where God seems to be speaking to us.

Even within a passage that does not apply to us because we are not held captive,,,there is the idea that we will find God if we search for Him with all our heart. So within the general statement of God,,,,there is a statement specifically for all mankind.

For instance, God gave the 10 commandments to the Israelites.
Are they also not for us?
We also must follow the moral commandments.
So even though the commandments were given to other peoples,
we are also involved in God's wish to be obeyed.

There is only one Church and one God.

So, yes, verses 12 and 13 do apply to us.

Galatians 3:26-29
26For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
27For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.
28There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free man, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
29And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s descendants, heirs according to promise.
