What is it about these feathered things that make them so appealing???

Hunger? Barbecue sauce? 8-)

I used to have chickens. But I always liked Guineas more than chickens. Chickens were overall more useful, as far as the meat and eggs. But Guineas were so pitifully ugly, and neurotic, they traveled in packs like dogs, but that noise they made when they got excited was very unique, and just a little bit hillbilly-ish. That noise always let you know you were no longer in the city or even the suburbs. (take your shoes off, sit a spell.) Plus, I never had a problem with ticks or snakes if I had a fair sized herd of Guineas roaming the farm. Not to mention that they make excellent watch-dogs. They will let you know if someone comes on the place.
