if you haven't notice my avatar yet. its a pic that predates electricity. its of the rr passenger service and I believe at the youngest say 1920. that is when the city had its first electric plant. but there is no line to that but a telegraph line. the rr was in my county as a passenger rail in the 1890'sView attachment 5079

the background building still stands and the so does the passenger building which has been moved. it was used until the mid 70's

It's always fascinating to see pictures & flyers from the past, jasonc ! The artwork on some of the old flyers/posters are typically exceptional :wave2

I have more there is a home with a lot of old petroliana signage ie mobile, shell, Texaco etc and other things from the old days. a Sinclair gas pump.you drive through it. he I think has the largest. I have been on some small collections as that is common. some homes have them.

An acquaintance of mine is big into buying old signage. But he turns around & tries to sell them. He's usually successful at that. I think the reason he does the buying is because he likes to travel, and being on the hunt for signage gives him a good excuse for traveling!

that is the same building now that is in my avatar is had the rr stop and go thingy. that is see able in my avatar and posted image. that has red, yellow and green on it and it was manually moved by a lever to do that and was donated by a family and it was repaired. this museum also has old telegraph wiring in it on display and ground ornaments and old topos. most of which I have downloaded from the ucf site.

Here's a picture from my home town taken in the 1920s.

Here it is today. That drug store finally closed it's doors about two months ago.

almost like my town.if I can find a decent pick of the old power plant from the same time it will look a lot like that brick building.
