Does anyone care for Old computer games? I just happen to like some of them, And I mean 1990's old not early 2000's. So what about you guys? I play the following "Old games"

- Elder Scrolls Daggerfall 1996 (Great second game of the series which holds skyrim.)
- Civilization I (1991) Start of an AWESOME series too.
- Warcraft II (1996) Within the series of RTS's that came before WoW.
- I even played Sim City once, (1989)

I particularly get a lot into ES Daggerfall. Awesome game for its time. Its based in a mideval like world. The lore and everything about the world of Tamriel (Where Elder Scrolls series takes place) is entertaining. There is tons to learn about it and explore. In Elder Scrolls II (Daggerfall) You can buy houses, Boats, Horses, Carts, Rob Graves, Accept epic quest taking you into the farest reaches of a labyrinth dungeon, Buy awesome weapons. Break into peoples houses and steal stuff, Murder people while nobodys looking (All of this if you so choose anyway.) Join tons of cool guilds. Fight Deidras (The Evil Gods of Tamriel) and collect their epic equipment. And of course just do casual quest for whoever. It has a downside but the map is insanely huge, And there is much more to do.

MathBlaster: In Search of Spot comes to mind. Back when I had Windows 98, I used to play it all the time. There's another one for pre-algebra that I never really played.

-Bible Baseball
-Spell It 3 (or something like that)
-The Oregon Trail (never played it, but I have it)

There were at least two others, but I can't remember the names of them. One had a superhero similar to Bible Man, and another one was like a Bible trivia game.

Most of them were kid games, obviously.

My dad has this one called G-Fleet that I used to watch him play. I think that one was actually from the '80s, or at least early 90s.

I really loved The Oregon Trail, I wished I still had a copy. You should definitely give it a play, it's such a fun game. Make it out west with your whole family intact. :D

elizabethbraddock:

Did you also read the book 'The Oregon Trail Revisited', by Gregory Franzwa? it's a fascinating historical account of the early pioneers on what was once a harsh and forbidding route at times. (See the movie; read the book...)

I haven't read it, but I'm interested in things like that. I think I'll take a look at it. Thanks for the recommendation. :thumbsup

YW. My copy is quite old so I'm not sure it's in print, but maybe it's still available from Amazon.

You know the saying, All roads lead to Rome? Well, for the Oregon Trail, All roads lead from Missouri (or seemingly so...) Blessings.

You want Oregon Trail? You can play it for free!! (No its not illegal) Just download the DosBox and you can play old computer games all ya want. You just have to mount the stuff when you get on. Thats what Dosbox is used for. Making old games work on newer versions of windows.

Thanks, I will do that. I wonder if I'll have as much fun playing as I did when I was a kid? lol

Just make sure that you check out a tutorial or something on how to get games or your particular game to work on DosBox, Because it can be complicated! But once you get the hang of it you will not find it so hard. Its just those first couple times around.

Back in the 90's, I loved to game on the PC. Civilization was awesome! I also loved the Myst series! And I might get some flack for this, but I loved... LOVED Doom!

At 45, confirmation that I'm getting old comes in the form of gaming, among other ways. There's no way I can keep up with my son on the PS3. I need games that have left, right, forward, backward and fire controls. Not too long ago, I stumbled upon my old Civilization cd, and it wouldn't play on my system. :(

Was Earthworm Jim ever made for the PC? Because I owned that game, and I OWNED that game on the old Playstation!

Dosn't matter Civilization is supported on Dosbox! So you can play it anyway! Just install Dosbox and learn how to get games to work on it! Its designed to get old games to work on modern OS's
