[__ Science __ ] Old Earth vs. Young Earth

Why would this be a linear function, and not an exponential one?? I would expect the 1.7 figure to increase with time. The assumption of a constant rate seems illogical.
Is it more logical to assume it's exponential? What's your basis for such an assumption?

I am glad I do not have to do the math. Now we can let ai do the math for us. Although no two people seem to be able to produce the same results.
  • On July 9, 2025, Earth spun about 1.3 to 1.6 milliseconds faster than the standard 24-hour day.
  • Similar speed-ups are expected on July 22 and August 5 this summer2.
  • These shifts are tiny—imperceptible to us—but they matter for atomic clocks, GPS, and global timekeeping systems2
Right! I get that accurate timekeeping is something that man endeavors for great perfection. But a day is a day to God who created all these things that you find interesting anomalies. I also understand, believe (whatever word suits you for one's deepest heart felt truth) that God wrote all of this down for us over the centuries of raising His people upon the earth for our understanding. I believe that God has enough knowledge of our understanding that He knows that we know what a day is. He knows what we think a day is even if it's not in agreement with His understanding of what a day is

God wrote all of this down
Actually the Bible is a lot more oral tradition than people seem to realize. Which for me is even a greater miracle that God is able to preserve His word in this way. Anyone who has ever played round robin knows how distorted things get as they go from person to person.

Hi Elijah7777

Yeah, that's how I always explain the truths to people who are reading the bible. It's just a game of round robin written down for us.

This means the Bible is for all of us. The word of God speaks to everyone.

What people don't realize is the word of God is a spoken word. At first there was no punctuation. It would be like having the lyrics but not the notes for a song. They memorized the notes and that was a part of the oral tradition.

And all of this that you realize that others don't is what makes the Scriptures a kind of 'round robin' when it comes to what was written down. Ok.
