Old Testament Saints; question for other Catholics

Well, this thread has gone off on a tangient

Well Catholic Thelogy is way out there in dream land. I believe when we are in heaven we will have no memory of a loved being in hell.

Now it's your turn to back one up with scripture.

I still don't get how a person can be saved without Jesus Christ. Tell me, is this your Catholic Thelogy?

That is certainly not Catholic Theology, no one is saved without The Grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ, no one. Even if, in His Mercy He chose to save someone who had never even heard The Good News, it is still through Him, that you must be saved, and no other.

I am glad to hear that. I thought the last Pope was saying that, but maybe I heard wrong.

While I have you here, Let me ask you a question that the Catholic site answered about end-times. Maybe, I am wrong, but I thought the last Pope said he believed in the rapture. Do you believe in the rapture? Also, the last pope had a meeting with Benny Hinn to help him with his understanding of the Holy Spirit. They both agreed they would not discuss this with anybody. Do you believe this happened?

May God bless, golfjack

More likely you have misunderstood.

Rapture? Are you talking about pre-trib rapture? We don't believe in that. But we do believe in bodily resurrection and that some will be caught up to meet Christ from this earth when he comes again.

Also, the last pope had a meeting with Benny Hinn to help him with his understanding of the Holy Spirit. They both agreed they would not discuss this with anybody. Do you believe this happened?

What's not to believe, though I don't know if he did or not. What's wrong with talking to Benny about his understandings? He needs someone to talk to him. He was Catholic when he was young by the way. Surely the shepherd would go after one lost sheep. What is the problem with them not discussing a private conversatoin?

As requested by LC, do what you always want from us. Back this up from scripture?

The Rapture

Yes there will be a Rapture!

It's just not a term often used by Catholics. Although Catholics. are for the most part, amillennialists; i.e. The Thousand Year Reign as described in St John's Revelation, is not a literal 1000 years, rather 1000 years represents a long period of time. And we are in that long period of time, The Church represents Christ's Reign on Earth. The Rapture will come at the time of final judgement of the world.
The view that the rapture will come, followed by the 1000 years, or the view that the 1000 years is yet to come, is not taught by The Church, although I don't believe any official dogma has come down to completely forbid the possibility. Catholics may believe it as far as know, but are forbidden to teach it, is my understanding.

As far as the meeting with Benny Hinn, I have absolutely no idea.
