On-going saga on steroid use

Hey there,

I heard on the fan (sports radio) last week that they will do an investigation on the use of steroids in MLB.
With this new book out that talks about Bonds and heard Gary Shefield is also mention in the book (sure others are mention). I wonder what will these players will do, if anything. Will this ruin their careers?
I will pick up the book this week, and fill you in ;-)

Have a great day

I don't think it will hurt players like Bonds anymore than the steroid issue already has. People pretty much have their minds made up either way. I think MLB will have to investigate all players and not just a select few to be fair.

What I don't get is why McGuire and Sosa are treated differently than Bonds when they all are under suspiscion. I think these players records will all go down in the books, but I think people will remember the controversy that surrounded them. Their stats and records don't mean all that much to me. I still consider Marris the HR king.

That's true I remember seeing Sosa and McGwire in the court room (on the news) and like you said the people won't remember the controversy that surrounded them. I like McGwuire too.

I honestly think Bonds is getting a raw deal. People are trying to ruin him. For what...the exact same things that bonds and sosa did? There isn't a difference.

He hasn't even been found guilty of using steroids. He might have, ok, but so what, so has a large portion of the mlb. I just get annoyed by ESPN and the other sports news casts that focus so much on him alone.

He hit 72 homeruns in one year, that is what, 7 above the mcguire, and 11 above marris? Does anyone think if he did steroids that only the steroids did it? The man hit everything in the strike zone, that talent doesn't come with steroids. He was walked so many times that year it broke the record by a wide margin, yet he still hit that many homeruns.

Sorry about the rant, I'm just sick of the media not producing all of the facts and people eating it up.

I agree, What I don't understand is why doesn't the mlb be do something about it or why didn't they do anything about it when sosa and mcgwire were in the court rooms, I think that is the same time canseco had his book out too. Again I am a rookie here so bare with me. ;-)
