It's documented.
If anyone claims that they managed to continue the order in secrecy, or the whole breakdown was a fake in the first place, we should point them to the fact the the original aim of the 18th century Illuminati order would have been irreconcilable with secret world domination. They were all into elightenment philosophy as it was fashionable at that time, thinking that with the right education of mankind governments and rulers would become unneccessary. The original Illuminati's new world order would be a world without governments (that includes secret governments) because enlightened and eduacted people could rule themselves and live together peacefully because maturity and reason would guide everyone's heart.

It is in the article. The original group disbanded, reportedly, not long after it was originally formed. Current groups that "associate" themselves with this original group really have not ties to it other than using the name.

The fact that they were so short lived is probably one thing that contributes to the order's conspiratorial reputation. If you wanna be a legend you have to die young. :lol

Actually, the Alumbrados date back to 1527 in Spain.
They were made up of primarily reformed Franciscans and Jesuits.
St Ignatius of Loyola was charged with sympathizing with them in 1527.
They were known as the Spanish Illuminati.

Do they still exist?

Regardless, however, since the group that was formed in Bavaria did not allude to any influence or ties to their older Spanish counterparts.

Probably nothing exists but who knows?
If someone has a secret society going based on any of the above, I would think they would try to keep it secret.

Human's have a horrible track record at keeping secrets. Case in point: current groups who claim to be linked to the Bavarian group use it as a marketing tool to recruit new members, which completely flies in the face of wanting to be a secret society.

LOL, good point!

Hey, now there's a good point I can make from now on.
I don't use the King James Bible because I'm not part of the church of England.

...1921, West Virginia is the first state to institute a broad sales tax, but due to enforcement complications does not implement it until years later, also because it took a while to convince women that it is a good thing.

Those Native Americans were clever. Getting rid of Wall Street before it even existed. And getting some usefull stuff for it, too!

...1763, the leader of the Ottawas, Chief Pontiac, let an attempt to take Fort Detroit and drive out the British Settlers. This was the start of Pontiac's War.

Of course if they tried the same thing today the residents would probably just hand the place over.
