EVen the lost know that sin is wrong.
:nod Confusious say: " Any christian who thinks that any biblical doctrine implies that sin is okay is, well, probably just looking for an arguement. Don't waste your breath."
On the other hand; if you wanted to build a false doctrine around sin being okay, this would be where to start.
Romans 7:23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Rom 7:25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh I serve the law of sin.
Good scripture. Paul discovered this law of sin, and it's important all Christians know what he's talking about. As long as we live in the flesh, we will struggle against it's lusts. Paul himself struggled. He realized that even when we try our hardest, we will sin. We desire to do good, but we fail. This is why we can't sit back and rest on the work of the cross. We're to crucify our flesh, and be "raised" to walk in the spirit. We're to press on to the high calling of God.
Romans 7:14-22 said:
For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
The inward man...that is where we exercise that circumcised heart we received when we first repented.
If our heart has been circumcised, we walk in newness of life. We can't lose our salvation, but we can founder by the wayside. The Lord is faithful to chasten us, and sorely, too, but Christ's righteousness has been imputed to us. When God looks at us, He sees His righteousness, not our sin. Our sins are covered by the blood. If we confess our sins, we can begin our walk anew. The victories are few when we're foundered by the wayside.
