One of The Worst Oil Spill Pictures I've seen yet

Just saw this on another forum, and It's really really disgusting. I've seen animals covered in oil, and the massive spills in full. I've even been a part of cleaning up some animals that had been through a spill, regardless of the cancerous chemicals that also had spilled as well. But this photograph is really disturbing to me. I know a lot of people will be thinking that this is nothing compared to the amount of animals that are often photographed in oil spill pictures. But this picture gives off a whole new aspect to the spill in an unfortunately artistic way.

Imagine this is what you will be seeing throughout the entire gulf of Mexico along the beaches by the time next year rolls through. The experts have said that they don't expect to be able to contain the spill for at least another year, many say more. The spill is already covering a larger area than many states do, and it is estimated by the growth rate that there may be over 350,000 barrels a day being added.

Feel free to compare http://paulrademacher.com/oilspill/# (this was updated on the 12th which means 1,750,000-2,500,000+ barrels have been added since then, within the past 5 days)

Evointrinsic,
Thanks for sharing.

This whole gulf spill makes me sick to my stomach. I've been following it from about a week after the initial incident and it made me sick then. There is so much destruction it's pretty sad.

They interviewed a gal who works at the Detroit zoo and she said that yes, it would affect Michigan because a lot of our birds migrate to the gulf for the winter, and when they go down next winter, they are not going to find their food source, or the area's that they are used to so it's probable that come next spring a lot of them won't survive the winter which means we won't be seeing them in the spring, and that means, which means, and by the way.... you get my point. It's all tied together.

I don't want to detract from your thread, but what really drives me nuts is that here we are hearing about all this green technology that needs to be pushed, and they are comparing it to putting a man on the moon.... yet Obama killed the hydrogen program, and the car companies have lobbied for years to get pipelines built for ethenol production so e-85 would be under 1 dollar a gallon. Like, so what if they get 15% less mpg, it's a third of the cost and gets us off fossil fuels, and one step closer to hydrogen.

Sorry for my soap box, but it really, really makes me mad that Obama is using this for cap and trade, and not to do something that can get us off oil for real, and is right in our face.

What a day it will be when we no longer have to worry about such an environmental disaster caused by man.

jeff, that will only happen when the lord returns as we wont need a light for the lord will be our light.
you all get to see it from a far, i will s see some of it on my beach :mad
