One reason why Hindus should be Conservative Christians!

How is wishing to be god different than wishing for heaven?

In heaven, you have no wants or desires. You are perfectly happy and will exist for eternity. It will be perfection.

The difference between that and god is slight, if at all. Because if it was perfect, you could not wish nor achieve anything greater (i.e. being god).

aha!

Keen observation!
Some it seems covet to be God while others covet to serve God. I wonder which choice is the correct choice? Does not satan covet to be God? And would the children of the devil choose as their father?
....and some would call down fire from heaven upon the unbelievers, while others would contend wth God, as did Moses and Avram, that God spare all for the sake of a few righteous.

Some would covet the Judgement Seat of God, while yet others would covet to see His mercy and His Glory in this life.

I would hope that all on this board would rather to warn sinners of the upcoming condemnation that unbelief will bring, as opposed to the calling down of fire from heaven.

Be not deceived, God is not mocked. Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Hey wait a minute!

That sounds like Karma!

 You have around 10 verses in bible which is used by eastern cult member to brainwash a westerner , This is one of them. Karma assumes that if you do bad/good deed it will follow in your next incarnation, Wait a minute! There is no NEXT incarnation

In one sense, there is a similarity. Both karma and the teaching of Jesus on what he calls “sinâ€Ââ€â€both include the idea that man can and does do things wrong and evil. That there is something wrong with the human race is somewhat included in both of these concepts.
But the differences are great. The source of our problem and how to counteract it are very different in the teaching of Jesus. The Bible teaches that man lives once, and then after death there is judgment.

Heb 9:27 "it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment"

Karma assumes many lifetimes in order to escape the cycle of birth and death and be freed from the web of Samsara. Jesus teaches that all men accrue a debt that comes from one life of deeds, motives, words, and thoughts that are bent or evil. In the teaching of Jesus, having more than one lifetime would only make the problem worse, the Visa debt would simply climb higher and higher.
The solution to sin is also deeper in the Christian teaching, in that deeds and meditation are not acceptable balances to the problem. Jesus teaches that God is absolutely perfect and demands this from His creatures as well. Man cannot make up for evil deeds with good deeds, because the standard is not a balance of good and evil, but goodness and purity and perfection. The Visa bill that is due is not payable in money or in pilgrimages or good deeds: in fact it is the lack of the fullness of these in a complete way that brings the debt due.
Jesus also reveals that God is compassionate and full of grace. The teaching and life of Jesus is that He came as God in the flesh, the only incarnation of God among men, and that He went to a cross intentionally-- to pay the debt for all the world’s sin. As the only perfect man, he was qualified to pay the debt. As God incarnate he has the full weight to pay for the sins of the entire world. The way of forgiveness is simply to address the Visa bills: “payable by Jesus.â€Â
I hope this helps to show the similarities and differences of the Hindu concept of karma and the Bible’s teaching regarding sin

Thanks

Good post Karma2Grace,

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We earned death and we are given a chance to receive eternal life via the sacrifice of Christ on the cross.

The Hindu is free from being "born again over and over" through Karma.

The Christian is free from death by becoming "born again".

There are no similiarities at all between Karma and grace.

Man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment. (Heb. 9:27)

This verse is used to show that humans die only once, thereby supporting resurrection and refuting reincarnation. But if this verse affirms that people are only allowed a single death, then this itself excludes many people of the Bible. All of the people in the Bible who were "raised from the dead" experienced death more than once (with the exception of Jesus). Other people in the Bible such as Enoch, Elijah and Melchizedek did not even die at all. But most convincing of all, the apostle Paul himself died more than one as recorded in his second letter to the Corinthians:

I know a person in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know - God knows. And I know that this person - whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows - was caught up to paradise. He heard inexpressible things, things that humans are not permitted to tell. (2 Cor. 12:1-4)

PAUL clearly says "I DON'T KNOW!" but some how Soma managed to conclude that Paul is dead and reincarnated more than once

Yes they did not die at all so what is the message?

It is not that once verse there are so many things in bible which totally against the reincarnation

For Example: The Angel told Daniel that "Go and take rest you will wake up (resurrect) when the time (Christ ascension) comes"

Hindus

with all respect to others in my opinion i think hindus are in a deep wrong path and they are mislead because i know some hindus who worship stone or animals.

and the stone is created with their own hands i mean how can you worship something you made with your own hand ??

this doesnt make sense !!

or worship an animal that does even know how to protect it self from enemies and so on .

and the first of the ten commandments was what ??

worship only thai lord and it means worship GOD .

not stone or animals

stones and animals have no use for worship

What do you think is in the Kabah? If you are going to attack Christian, Jews and Hindus for using stones in worship, you might as well go after the muslims too. 8-)

brutus

Well brutus

it depends .

we do not pray to the kabah.
we pray to God

the kabah is just a direction for us and we do not pray to the kabah because the kabah is not built to be worshiped

we worship the God of the kabah and God of everything else .

the problem with other is they consider these animals or stones Gods .

there is only one God
