The forum has three confused topics constantly running. They are:
1. What is the baptism that saves us?
2. Who Jesus Christ is ?
3. Drinking the cup of the Lord ?
What they are unaware of, is that they are one topic, and it is one denial everybody has taken part in, because there is ONE BODY, ( people who debate are not possible to be of the same body)
There is one Spirit, which we are all to drink into.
There is one Lord( His name became one in the earth( Jesus Christ)
There i one baptism ( He it is Anointed of God,that baptizes with the Holy Ghost)
Ephesians 4:4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Apostle Paul made it plain, how Christ sent him not to baptize, but to preach the gospel.
As the preaching of the cross is foolishness to them that perish, but to us who are saved, it is the power of God. ( not in baptizing but in the preaching of the cross.)
Because it is written, the wisdom of the wise is destroyed, so where is the disputer of this world, when their wisdom is made foolish ?
We preach Christ crucified, a stumblingblock and foolishness to those who do not believe, but to them which are called, ( to hear the preaching of the cross and not men's wisdom and disputing) Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
This is that preaching of the cross.
The woman of Samaria asked Jesus where He has that living water from ?
She made clear that this is claiming to be better than Jacobs well.
Jesus answered how, with that water, men thirst again, and who drinks the water that Jesus shall give, shall never thirst, as the water that Jesus will give shall be in us a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
John 4:11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Jesus then discusses likewise with the Jews.
The Jews answered as the woman in Samaria, how God had given them bread from heaven to eat.
Jesus answers how truly, Moses did not give them that bread from heaven, but His Father gives the true bead from heaven.
Jesus came down from heaven and is the bread of God, giving life unto the world.
Jesus confirmed as told to the woman in Samaria, who comes to Jesus shall never hunger, and he that believes on Jesus shall never thirst.
John 6:31 Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
32 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
34 Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
Jesus is that bread of life.
The Hebrews did eat manna in the wilderness and were dead.
But this bread comes down from heaven, that a man may eat, and not die.
Jesus is the living bread ( as the water He gives is living water) which came down from heaven, if any man eats of that bread he shall live for ever, and the bread He gives is His flesh, given for the life of the world ( the drink He gives is from His pierced belly, water and blood)
John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
48 I am that bread of life.
49 Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
50 This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
Except we eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink His blood, we have no life in us.
To eat His flesh and to drink His blood, is to have eternal life. He that eats His flesh and drinks His blood, dwells in Him, and He in us.
The living father sent the Son, the Son lives by the Father, so he that eats the Son, lives by Him.
Not as the Hebrews ate manna and are dead, but to eat of the bread that came down from heaven and we shall live for ever.
John 6:53 Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
54 Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.
55 For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
56 He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.
57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me.
58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.
Jesus stood and cried in the last day, that great day of the feast, that if any man was thirsty, to come to Jesus, and drink.
Jesus told them, if they believed on Him, as scripture had testified, out of His belly shall flow rivers of living water.
This is the Holy Ghost, the Spirit to be given when Jesus was glorified ( entered into His glory. Isaiah 11:10. Luke 24;26. Hebrews 4:1-3.) and the rest we enter into through belief, and not falling after the example of unbelief as Israel.
John 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
