Optimistic About The Future?

Much of the prophetic message down through history has been negative, and rightfully so. Judgment is coming upon the wicked, and has since time began. But the message for Christians is different, and they have a hope abiding within them continually. It is why the church is supposed to be joyful instead of depressed, happy instead of sad, for Hope is a fruit of the Spirit we are called to walk in. The Christian message is indeed one of hope for those who believe, and not just a hope that will be realized when He finally returns. Though the world's economies are going down, there will be hope and provision for those who believe in Him; though the world descends into greater despair as a result of increasing diseases and ill health, there will be healing in His wings for those who trust in Christ; though many will serve darkness and walk in greater powers of supernatural deception and sorcery, the Spirit will be poured out in greater measure upon the church than the earth has ever seen, and the harvest will be greater in the end-times than it was during early church days.

So ours is the message of hope and optimism, not despair. It is the good news, not the bad news. I recall during the pandemic that I thought the time clock was speeding up, and things were going to get rougher soon in many ways; that the four horsemen were about to starting riding out in earnest finally, though I still knew we were a long ways off from His return.

That's not how it went. There is still plenty of good going on in the world, let alone in the Spirit. So is your outlook about your own future optimistic or pessimistic? I heard a song just yesterday that reminded me of what Spirit we are supposed to be walking in. It was written during the pandemic, and apparently he met a young Christian girl whose whole outlook and message was consumed with everyone dying and the world coming to an end; not a message that would save anyone, because people in the world are looking for hope not despair.

So the question is, are you someone people are pleased to meet, or someone they'd just as soon part company with as quickly as possible because your message is only one of gloom and doom?

Im totally optimistic about the future.The future is looking so bright I will need sunglasses,Ha Ha!.I think all of the doom and gloom amongst christians comes from them being obsessed with politics,and the 'state of country'.All of the 'End Times Prophecy' publications and literature hasn't helped either.End Times philosophy has weaved its way into the christian psyche.I remember back in the 90's when the End Times predictions were being stoked,all christians are getting their heads chopped off,and all that jazz.When did all those Tim Laye "Left Behind" books come out?,you know the ones about us being sucked out of our clothes?.If I go to the guillotine,I just hope the blades fresh.

Yes ! The Good News , The Gospel , Jesus is our Savior , that needs to be foremost on our lips .

Optimistic in that I know God will take care of us but I see hard times coming .

Greetings, Saboteur. I saw you hanging around earlier, so glad you had a chance to respond.

Yeah, it would seem the whole "End is nigh!" message is here to stay now. From now until the end there will always be somebody stepping up who says this "sign" or that "sign" means we are only a few years away. It's good in a way to be watching, it's just not good to go off the deep end, especially without a sound understanding of scripture. I always just kinda roll my eyes when somebody thinks the US is Babylon the Great and a US President is going to be the Antichrist.

Anyway, I fully agree with you on feeling like my future is bright. It hasn't been all peaches and cream, but I was looking at an article today about people feeling disillusioned as they get older because life has passed them by, and I feel like my life hasn't even begun yet. When you have a strong relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, you have a calling and a purpose, and it keeps life ever before you instead of thinking life is behind you.

Throughout My Life, I Have Walked A Lonely Dark Isolated Path Seeking Beauty.
Strangely Enough, There Was Discovery In Even The Smallest Creatures On The Planet.

I Led A Life Seeking Truth. Wandered Alone Seeking A Reason. Sat In Darkness Trying To Find A Purpose.
The Moon Became A Ghost. As The Sun Became A Mentor. Answers Dscovered In Christ Jesus (The Messiah).

He Never Even Walked From His Father (Our Heavenly Father). Even When Tempted (By) The King Of Temptation.

I believe the "last days" are really no different from any other time period in history.
Take the 4 horsemen. False saviors, war, famine, and death have been realities in every culture on earth. The area they cover is the only difference,

These are the four spirits of the heavens, which go forth from standing before the Lord of all the earth.....these that go toward the north country have quieted my spirit in the north country.

Gods' Spirit is quieted when his judgement falls on men, causing those left alive to run to him for mercy.

God poured out Christs' Spirit on the Apostles and from there on all flesh (Act.2:16-21).

OT believers had the Holy Spirit guiding them,

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Pro.1:23

Believers have always reigned with Christ on earth.....from Gods' perspective,

we are more thanconquerors through him that loved us. Rom.9:37 (See also Heb.11)

I believe God has always ruled, having our best interest in mind and believers do the same.
It's also important to note that Jesus said,

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. Mt.10:34

So, many people won't like us no matter how kind we are to them. Still, Jesus gives the peace that passes all understanding to us and we are all growing in him.

All things, whether they are good or like Job, unbelievably awful come from God according to his purpose

My biggest fear about the future is out of control inequality and growing poverty…that and the environment. The two seem correlated. People with power rip the community to shreds rip the environment to shreds and then want everyone in mental health treatment and to do our part to save the planet ?. Ok

Well they escorted Jesus out of the synagogue in gospel of Luke. The truth wasn't accepted.
John Baptist was beheaded for telling the truth to king Herod.
The fake religious leaders had Jesus crucified. They couldn't stand hearing God's truth.
God's Election in this generation will be hated by the majority. Are the election going to be treated differently than Jesus or paul??.
You speak out against traditions of men and false doctrine, and you have Target on your back. John chapter 14, the world will hate you.
The world hated Jesus, and it will hate God's Elect !.
When satan as antichrist comes near future, he will turn people against the election.
Revelation chapter 12:17. Satan will declare war on the saints, that's God's elect. No, the truth will not be accepted by the world. Jesus already told us the world will hate you.
