"Our Rights don't come from God"

I think our rights originate from the wealthy white men's view of their rights as Englishmen w/ property and education. Over the centuries, more people have been given more rights, so now even poor non-whites can vote, which is something far beyond our Founding Fathers' imaginations.

I'm glad to live in America, but...I don't think our rights come from God directly. I think of the US as a sort of social experiment that has made a big impact on the world.

I do, you have a right to live. so I can vote you to die because it that way? the issue is what rights do we have? and if its not a right from god per se then whom is the person that must dish out the punishment. ie idolatry. history has shown that a theocracy doesn't work.

Without God there is no you and no me! Without God one of my grandfathers would still be killing my white grandfather's children and people would not think I'm white. Without God, there would be no struggle to make Adam's sin be covered and awaken fools of all colors that they might accept the scientifically proven truth that all of us are brother and sister. LOL! Hi bro!

yeah but...ok, following that logic...does the stuff happening in communist china come from God? Stalin's russia? See what I'm saying? My take on the situation is that a bunch of Enlightenment-era elites got together and put together a new Bill of Rights which mostly covered white men with property. Over the years, more and more people got to take a piece of the pie. God in action? Maybe...but what about Hitler's Germany?
