I know right now that I am feeling pretty broken. My husband and I both are at this point. We know we have strayed from what God has been telling us so we are uncomfortable in the wilderness as we move back onto the path He wants us to be, but it isn't without rocks on the way.

We have been struggling the past year. We are doing everything possible to get back on the right track and growing in God's word again. I am sure God will make this uncomfortable the rest of the time we are here, but please pray that my husband and I will keep growing in the Lord and persevere through these tough times. Thank you.

definitely praying. not trying to over-analyze, but i sense some self-condemnation here. everyone falls short. I think Romans 8:1 applies, absolutely. :)

Maybe in some ways. We only have ourselves to blame when we become like Jonah avoiding Ninevah. I can totally relate in some ways except getting swallowed by a big fish or getting tossed off a ship.

different people have different perspectives of God. Given that God is omnipotent and awfully complicated, I don't think its always a right vs wrong impression issue, either. God is merciful. God is (at times...) wrathful, as well He should be. No contradictions, just...complexity.

For obvious reasons, I view God more as merciful and compassionate, long suffering and interested in character development, restoration, transformation. I guess as a dude raised by "bleeding heart liberals" / "hippies," my role in The Body of Christ will be part of the heart, maybe? I dunno.

I"d just encourage you not to get too, too down on yourself. I don't know you or the situation, but...Our God is the God of yet another undeserved chance. :-)

God for sure disciplines us (Hebrews 12:6), but he also gives us more grace and mercy than we deserve (Psalm 103:10). Definitely true, and so much opportunity is given to us. God gives many chances, but if we squander our time He may eventually pass those opportunities on to someone else.

You and your family will remain in my prayers as your love for the Lords draws deeper.
