Pizza Shops In Your Area,Any Favorites????

Some places call that flatbread here.
But does flatbread have stuff on it?

I think flatbread is focaccia.
A flat bread, soft in the center and on top, loaded with oil and some salt.
You could gain 5 pounds eating that stuff and be happy about it !

Pinza is a kind of focaccia with the pizza stuff on it.
My granddaughter likes that.
I like regular pizza.
I make it for us every Saturday evening.
Different stuff on it every week.

And we all like french pizza too.

Yes, we make the flatbread just like a pizza, sauce cheese and toppings.

Also have used Focaccia, Naan and Ciabatta.

I really do not like pizza at all, but the Ciabatta is really good.

Oh yeah.
When I first moved here there was a bread store in town that made their own bread.
My husband and I gained weight eating their ciabatta. They closed down about 10 years ago
and there's nothing like theirs.
I think it's a little hard for pizza, but we all have our own taste.
How do you get all this good bread?
When I lived in NYC it wasn't easy to find good Italian bread.
I lived in Whitestone - if you know where that is.

Must have been a while ago .lol

No Jason.
Focaccia and pinza have leaven it it.
The bread rises and then it gets punched down.
Holes punched .you haven't had unleavened bread much .you don't taste the yeast .

Flat bread over there isn't anything like motza bread despite not having leaven .Or like a cracker thin .

They will add sugar to it for a sweet taste .I do miss that .

I've had unleavened bread.
It's good with some oil and salt on it.
Some restaurants make it and give some to each table.

23 years.
But we moved to Whitestone in 1979.
It wasn't an Italian neighborhood back then.
Astoria was. We'd go to Astoria for our "stuff".
That's the year 2000. Given that even my small county we had these .

A taste of Italy ,giordonos ,who died recently at 93. I can't see that .we have no Italian deli now .and way more Italian restaurants.

In 79. We had capporinnos ,they didn't serve pizza ,nor did ninos which now does ,caps pizza did fully serve both Italian food and pizza .

I really need to take charge of a headstone for my dad and put a photo of capporinnos on it as he loved that place . I will dig up a photo of that as it sits to show the oldest location. .

Hey All,
Detroit style is thick, like focaccia thick, rectangular pizza cooked in cast iron oil pans with a ring of cheese around the edge of the crust. The ring browns and is so tasty.

Keep walking everybody
May God bless,
Taz
They have "Jets"pizza in Ft Meyers which started in Detroit. That's the one I usually get. (Pizza w/o cheese violates a commandment lol)
