Is the size of a HUMMINGBIRD big enough to be called "giant"?

The fossil of a gigantic ant, similar to ones that lived 50 million years ago in Europe, has been found for the first time in North America.
Some scientists believe it is a new species.

Well, a new DEAD species, I guess.
