What does it mean to plead the blood of Jesus? Is such biblical? Why do the same people have to repeat the same ritual maybe the next day? Does the pleading made the previous day expire? Someone asked, though I didnt bother to answer

This seems to be common among WOF types. It tends to be used as some sort of "abracadabra" phrase to bless finances, or to cast out a cold. There's nothing in scripture that says to claim the blood of Christ. Rather, it says:

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. Revelation 12:10-11
We overcome the accuser by the blood of the lamb. Compare to Romans 8:1. Look at my avatar image. "No condemnation". The lambs blood in exodus caused the angel of death to pass over all the houses. It saved them. Those who rejected the blood did not get saved.

Here are some claimed examples, but the page sourced fails to show how Revelation 12:10-11 implies claiming blood over objects or situations. They make in bold font the word "by the word", but it is "by the word of their testimony" which I would say is the salvation testimony.

PSALM 107:2 NKJ
2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,

We must say that we are redeemed by the Blood of the Lamb. Following are some statements which others have successfully used.

In the Name of Jesus:

* I plead the Blood of Jesus for my healing.

* I apply the Blood of Jesus to this sickness.

* I sprinkle the Blood of Jesus on me.

* I resist you evil with the Blood of the Lamb.

* I draw a Blood line around this place that the devil cannot cross.

* I draw a Blood line of protection around my property and possessions.

* I plead the Blood of the Lord Jesus Christ against this problem.

* I cover my home with the Blood of Jesus to protect all occupants and possessions from all evil.

* I apply the Blood of Jesus to this problem and bind its power to remain. There is power in Jesus' Blood to set everything right, satan. Jesus' Blood works now to remove every evil work.

* I hold the Blood of Jesus against you satan, and declare on God's Word that it overcomes you, and that you flee. I will continue to believe and to repeat what I said until every trace of this trouble is gone.

This brings to remind me of "Deliverance Prayers" that I've noticed on YouTube. I listend to a few. But I found them comparable to the ASMR phenomenon (Which I wonder if they could be seducing spirits behind ASMR). Some (Not the video posted below) go as far as saying "Relax, take a deep breath out [to let out evil spirits], etc." which are techniques in hypnotism. Thus control over yourself is given to another person as they ask you to "cough, relax, and breathe deep." However I do not say that these videos are not genuine, and that these people are not genuine Christians. Rather I don't believe that Christians can have demons in them. They can be oppressed however.

WOF for 17 years and never heard that before to cast out colds or cure anything. The blood of the Lamb is related to the forgiveness of sins Through redemption, or purchased price. Col 1:14

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
(1Pe 1:18-19)

The redemption part of the blood is what overcomes the enemy. In other words, we belong to Jesus and seated above principalities. Since we are already in a authoritive positon being already delivered, because we have been bought and paid for with the Blood of the Lamb, then no reason to go shouting about the blood at things.

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
(Col 1:13-14)

Eph_2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
(Eph 1:21-23)

We as the body already are far above all the demonic kingdom, have already overcome.

It's not the blood we plead:

It's the name of Jesus, the only name given to men by which they can be healed. Peter answered this question concerning the man at Gate beautiful. There is no example to plead the blood over anything.

Thanks a lot for the detailed replies. I was brought up making similar prayer using similar terms. In times of trouble or sudden occurrences I inadvertently say the blood thing.

For others who do it....no idea their real intention. Perhaps by blood they mean Jesus: the blood representing Him? There is life in the blood, as the bible puts it.

Like you said, I think it has to do with redemption: redeemed by the blood of the Lamb - John 3:16

Do you mean to ask for the blood of Jesus to cover things from day to day?

Yes.

Is your avatar an elephant, or a whale with a curly tail looking to the right, and it's fin to the right? The whale looks much happier than the elephant.

Yea - and not just that

I heard someone pray "I bind these demons with sevenfold cords dipped in the blood of Jesus". Where's that in scripture? I also heard "I'm pouring the blood of Jesus down the throat of all these demons".

I've heard it used to refer to one's past--sort of like washed in the blood, I suppose.

I'm just reading through a word search of blood on my bible app and the verses in the new testament seem to suggest that the blood of Jesus is for the covering of sin(s)

So here is what Jesus says:

Mat 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

And this is what it Paul says:

Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Then further down:

1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

So the blood seems to just cover sins, is that what you're reading?

His blood covers us, thus the accuser has lost: they overcame the accuser of our brethren by the blood of the Lamb (Rev 12:10-11).

How so?

Just don't have a heart attack. At least you haven't been up for 8 hours on 23 red bulls.
