Because the pope does not go by Biblical doctrine. The Catholics have their own. Well let me put it this way' some of it' they do' and some of it they don't.
That's funny. Catholic doctrine would be that no one (not even the Pope) could make a statement that somebody would be in hell. It's clear that Jesus is the sole judge, as based in Scripture. Such as:
John 5:27 And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man.
2 Timothy 4:1 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge:
James 4:12 12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you--who are you to judge your neighbor?
Romans 2:1 1 You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.
And I could go on, but you get the picture.
But I am interested in the doctrine that you would adhere to that would grant you the authority to pronounce such a judgment, and its Biblical support. Keeping in mind that you claim to follow the Bible and all.
