The nation isn't going so well. Voters were faced with 2 not so great options, and now we have...The Donald. From reality TV to The White House. Only in America...
anyway, no matter your political outlook, I think its time that we pray for America. What happens here not only affects Americans (obviously...), but since we're still a super power, it'll have serious effects all over the world, as well.
Speaking as one who is amongst "the least of these," I'm getting a bit nervous. I'm less vulnerable than most "mental patients" because of my (loving, long suffering, kind, generous) parents. They take good care of me, protect me, keep me from living in genuine poverty.
But there's lots of stigmatized, low status, "have nots" in America. Some of them voted for Trump. Some HRC. Some didn't (or couldn't) vote at all. Neither party is exactly super generous with the "have nots," the "losers," the "weaklings," etc., but a lot of the GOP is hopped up on social darwinism, and that's scary stuff. The jails and prisons in America are already over-flowing. 1 in 5 children face varying degrees of food insecurity. The "economic recovery" isn't much of a recovery, not for most people. Before Trump was elected, the economic forecast through 2026 wasn't very bright. Now, Trump is the Prez and the markets have taken a hit out of "uncertainty," apparently.
Maybe the "radicals" were right. 2016 was another year in which we the people were given the illusion of choice. Or maybe that's pessimistic, Marxist intellectual gibberish. Time will tell.
So, no matter you're political leanings, ideology, social status, etc., I ask that we all pray for the USA. Rulers come and go; nations rise and fall. Things fall apart. Thankfully, Jesus is the same, yesterday, today, and in the years (and world) to come.
Thanks.
