[__ Prayer __] Prayer for a shooting

So, today a cop in my town responded to a domesticate dispute call. He arrived on scene and the husband ended up shooting him in the shoulder. The husband than took his wife and two kids hostage in their house. SWAT was called in and the commander in charge gave the sniper teams the order to shoot the moment they had a shot on the guy. After an hour or so he walked in front of a window and he was shot and killed.

So prayers for two things:

First, prayers for the wounded police officer and his family. He's in stable condition at Hartford hospital right now, but gun shot wounds can go from good to bad very quickly, plus he still has to recover and manage for a family.

Second, prayers for the wife and two daughters who were held hostage by what I can only assume was an abusive husband and than probably had to witness the husband getting shot. That's a lot of trauma.

That's just tragic. I can't imagine the kind of frustration and straight up madness that would lead someone to take their own family hostage and shoot a cop. I'll pray for him, too.

Father we thank you for this day and today we just lift up the people who were involved with this event. We lift up the family that was held hostage and pray that they are able to find the help they need, I can only imagine the emotional damage that would have been caused by such an incident and we pray your peace comes upon them. We also lift up the wounded officer and pray for his healing. Father in a year where 3 officers were killed in the city I live I pray for all our law officers who protect our freedoms and ways of life here in America. So often we remember our soldiers but forget our officers and I pray your blessing and protection on them. We pray these things in Jesus name, Amen.
