It is with a heavy heart I'm asking for your prayers.

One of our Deacons whom I've known for many years and enjoy at our Saturday morning men's breakfast has lost his son today.

His wife and my wife work at our local soup kitchen and she was concerned because her son wasn't answering the phone and like a worried mother went to his place to find he had been murdered this afternoon.

Please keep them in your prayers.

That is SO horrible!! I can't even possibly imagine the pain that he must be going through,.. but God can because He actually had to watch His Son being murdered. Praying for him and his whole entire family and that they get the justice that they need. :pray

Thank you, everyone. It has sent a shock wave through our congregation. Many of us know this man, but we all know his Father and Mother as they are pillars in our congregation.

Just to clarify, his Mother was worried because he had not answered his phone, so she left the soup kitchen to drive 35 miles to his home to check on him.

When she got there, she saw what happened and called 911 than others. The Fathers brother picked up the Father and took him to his son's house.

What a tragedy and a reminder that there are people out there that place very little value on human life.

Oh my goodness, lifting the family up in prayer.

Having lost two of my own children, i can begin to understand the loss and it causes me to look at my son, whom I love deeply in that i couldn't see him suffer in any way. When something or somebody hurts my son, i feel his hurt.

It is through this lens that i start to imagine what God feels like when we rebel against him, and we harm each other. But more so than that, i get a glimpse of the anguish God must have had watching his son suffer at the hands of men. His suffering for His son was do great that the Father couldn't bear to watch it any longer, and turns his head.... Which is why Jesus quotes scripture, "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me".

I know it's really sad and I was thinking about you earlier when I was taking a walk about the fact that I can't even think about that song before I start getting choked up a little bit and having to lose your own children you must be even worse than me. :crying Don't worry though I'm sure God was holding both of their hands when they crossed the streets of Heaven, and I'm sure that He'll make sure that they will look both ways before they run into your arms one day. :halo

I am so sorry for that tragedy that your Deacon and his family are facing. I have ministered to several families who lost loved ones because of murder and it's no easy work of love. Hopefully, the young man was a believer in Christ Jesus....My prayers are with you as well Jeff as you minister to your Deacon friend. May the blessed Holy Spirit give you just the right words of sympathy.

I love you my good friend,
Charlie

I only could imagine how they feel, such a tragedy.
May God comfort them.
Praying for them.

I'm in shock.
I didn't know about you loosing sons.
I'm praying for the Deacon's family ... it's just unbelievable.
And also for you S, I'm so sorry for what you and your wife have been through.

Just imagine if we didn't know God...
it would be so much worse.
I sure hope your friend is doing better,,,but it's still too soon.
Prayers.
