Mom just found out she has a lump on her thyroid. Pre-biopsy is 50/50 whether cancer. Most of the gland will be removed. Could use some spiritual support at this juncture. Thank you.

You guys helped me slip the C noose about a year ago.

Thank you so much all. Mom and Dad decided to go on their scheduled 10-day cruise anyways, but she will have the surgery as soon as they return.

Taking the planned cruise is a great way to keep the concerns somewhat at bay for a while. Good for your parents

Just got the call from the hospital. Mom made it through just fine. Don't have any other details yet. But looks like your fine work worked. Thanks all.

Complications. There was some bleeding overnight, so they want to keep her one more night. May need some followup surgery.

Just picked up Mom from the hospital. The bleeding turned out to be superficial, and stopped after rebandaging. She's tired, but glad to be home. Thanks again to everyone who was pulling for us.

Sorry about the complications, but I am happy the bleeding turned out to be superficial. God is good! I pray The Lord will be with her and the rest of your family (and you, too...) during her recovery.

Thanks again, everyone. The next nail-biter will be the biospy results. If it does turn out to be cancer (probably), she will have to go through this all over again to remove the other half of her thyroid.

ugh. not fun. on the plus side, I seem to recall reading that, as cancers go, cancer of the thyroid is one of the more treat-able ones. I had a friend, a couple years older than me, who had thyroid cancer. She got it treated, she's back to her old life, healthy now, etc.

I'll keep y'all up in prayer. Thanks for the periodic updates, btw...its always good to know how the situation is unfolding.
