[__ Prayer __] Prayer to Remove Depression

I have been battling depression and feel so tired and sad lately. I have been fighting it and ask for relief. I ask for the joy of the LORD and experience comfort.

hey wren,

I'll definitely pray with (and for) you on that one. Are you getting enough sleep? How's your diet? I don't mean to pry (too much...), but while you're waiting on The Lord's complete deliverance, sometimes there are little things you can try to address in your life that can make the situation much, much more bearable.

Me...I do take meds. Its "severe mental illness," so I guess its not optional. Having said that...adding high potency B-vitamins (I take a b-100 complex with food daily, plus folic acid and biotin) plus lots of C (I use time release...cuz I can...) has made a big, big difference.
Sleep is huge, too. I was addicted to Sonata and Ambien as a teenager, and now I sleep reasonably well without Rx sedatives. Good times. Some alternative health doctors use niacin(amide) in very high doses for depression, anxiety, stress, etc. Its Orthomolecular. I do my own version of it, and it seems to help with meds.
Orthomolecular was originally used in people with "the schizophrenias" (it was the 50s...if you were in a hospital, you were considered schizophrenic of some sort...). Some people with less severe problems find that the vitamin mixes alone are sufficient, or sometimes they'll use them with the Rx stuff for their maladies.

Sorry. I'm not trying to push vitamins on you. I just know how easy it is for diet and sleep to get messed up during trying times...which then makes the situation that much worse.

Ramble...I'll keep you up in prayer. :)

I've been trying to get more sleep now, and taking a multivitamin. As for exercise, I work in a physically demanding job, so I don't know if that counts.

I try to keep myself busy and not worry so much, but sometimes it's been difficult. I've been trying to hold things loosely to keep going.

You remain in my prayers, wren51 :wave2

There are numerous joyful writings in Psalms ... select some to read when your mood shifts, and enjoy the reading. :yes

.
Dear Sister wren51, have you seen a doctor concerning your diet and/or needed meds if associated with your health?
I do pray for your deliverance of those things depressing you, and relief from the demands of your work. Sometimes it seems God allows conditions in our lives to bring us to the point of receiving His great grace. Be aware of opportunities, listen for the still small voice of our Savior, and lend yourself to His leading in all parts of your life. God will not forsake or fail you, and do not fear taking your needs directly and boldly to our Father's throne of grace.

God bless you in Jesus' name. :wave2
