Growth Prayer

Illness has a way of slowing us down and be humble enough to have a hearty conversation to God.
Hope we all have hearty conversations to God regardless of our condition.
When I was younger, much of my prayers were when I felt I had a need. Then later, I started to thank God as well.
These days, I pray daily and 99% of the time they are praises (full of thanks) for everything, even for bad days, for many lessons are learnt from them.

Our prayer to God is His will be done and not ours. If we are trusting God for all areas of our life (health and well being) then we need not pray for ourselves, but to thank God for His promises and blessings. Our prayer should be fellowship with the Father and praying for others.

Oh right....nice to know. Good to see you! :)

Prayer and connection with Father are the constants in our life....where would we be without prayer!!

Bless you! Have a good one....H

I hear what you are saying but we mustn't overlook that Jesus wants us to ask him to share in our needs
"give us this day our daily bread" is an example
I for one ask God everyday to meet my needs, to protect me from all evil, and to take care of my health
I feel sorry for who has all worldly goods and has nothing to ask of the Lord

Two of the items you pray for are needed even by the wealthy.
Everyone needs God. Not everyone knows it.

Hi Allen Wynne,
Do we have to remind God of His promises or should we only trust and thank Him for supplying our needs as He knows what we need before we even ask Him. Matthew 6:5-18; Philippians 4:19

I ask God for my needs
When I have to have emergency surgery, when I woke up I asked for my health
When I get sick, I ask for my health
When I have any needs at all, I ask him for it
Only then do I sit back and wait for him to answer me

Asking God to answer our prayer needs for ourselves should be part of our daily lives
I wake up and praise him for every breath that I take
I know I can't live unless he gives me life
And I ask for that breath everyday, without fail

God always answers .. some times He might even say NO

Why is that important to tell us that in a Foundation of Faith forum
there is a reason, isn't there?

I don't have to ask God for my needs, but to only thank Him for supplying all my needs. Like reba said sometimes His answer is no as some of what we think we need is not always what God sees fit for us.

You must never get sick or ever need to have emergency surgery or have financial needs or fear for your life in a war zone
You sound very protected
You are missing out on some important issues in life

I've had seven major operations in the last 15 years, I rarely ever get sick, in debt up to my ears and have been through my own war zone being physically and mentally abused, but I have always trusted God to bring me through it all as it's the trials and tribulations we go though in this life that strengthens our faith and trusting God in all things because I know He already knows my needs and I thank Him for meeting each and every one.
