I would appreciate prayers for my nephew. It's an ongoing situation, and I feel like I don't even know how to pray for him any more, or what to pray for. He is in his late twenties and has a congenital disorder that has left him intermittently paralysed and in a huge amount of pain for the last twelve years or so. I don't feel that he is getting as much help as he needs from the doctors, and I think he and his close family have more or less 'given up'.

What do I pray for? Maybe just a better quality of life? For God to make his life meaningful in spite of his situation? For God to be with him and comfot him? I don't even know any more.

Thank you.

Granny,Jesus said "My Grace is sufficent for you".Is your nephew a Christian?I would like to know that to be more specific in my prayers.

Granny here is a nice video that goes with our pain and suffering.

I watched the video Sister Kathi posted with tears just flowing, and wonder how I will react the day God takes my wife, but even then God will be in control and all things will be as His will dictates. There are so many things I don't understand when I see the sufferings some go through, and yet I have observed people that could not feed themselves cared for, and praising God. Was their trial the only thing that kept them tied to our Savior? I do know that all things work together for good to us who love the Lord, and by faith hold to that.

There are many things that all of us do not understand.God's ways are not our ways.Faith is a big one when it keeps us tied to God.God told us that we would have trials and tribulations in this world. We will suffer on this earth just as He suffered on the Cross. He said he would be with us to help us go through "the valley of the shadow of death".

And that is the truth. :amen

Prayers for your nephew, his family, and you, GrannyJ .

Trying to understand the why's of some of life's challenges is sometimes impossible. All we can do is pray and place complete trust in our Lord and His perfect wisdom.

Praying for your nephew, Granny. I hope the pain ceases.

Thank you so much, everybody. It sure helps to have friends to pray with.

19"Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. 20"For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst." - Matt 18:19-20

Kathi - thank you for the beautiful video. Re your question: yes, he is a Christian.

In response to your "I dont know any more " Granny J most of the time I also dont know how to approach God ,youre not alone there but all that is made easy for us by default through the Holy Spirit. Listen to this "26.And in the same way- by our faith - the Holy Spirit helps us with our daily problems and in our praying. For we don't even know what we should pray for, nor how to pray as we should; but the Holy Spirit prays for us with such feeling that it cannot be expressed in words.
27. And the Father who knows all hearts knows , of course , what the Spirit is saying as he pleads for us in harmony with God's own will."Romans 8 Living Bible Paraphrased.
All prayers are listened to but it is subject to God's will ,and His purpose for us,as seen here.

Thanks Tony. That's a really good reminder; God knows our needs.
