[__ Prayer __] prayers for Verna, please

I spoke to Verna longer than usual last nite. It made me feel good, overall. I see now that I --am-- a blessing in her life, especially as The Lord has blessed me and poured into my life. Her own 2 (grown) kids are...not so much a blessing in her life. At all. I don't get it. I've seen it happen in other families, and I've told her that, and she agrees...it seems to be how the world is going...but still: I don't think that takes the pain away.

Her health concerns me. Overall, she seems to be doing OK, but this chronic kidney infection issue is...troubling. She's been on double-digit rounds of antibiotics, including at least 2 rounds I know of IV antibiotics, inpatient. Not fun. Over time, heavy-handed use of antibiotics can create its own set of problems. Verna's having trouble with her appetite, largely in part because the antibiotics suppress hunger and cause nausea.

On the plus side, God has been good to Verna her whole life. She's widowed, but she and her husband bought a nice home together, in a safe+comfortable subdivision, before he passed away. She has friends from churches she's attended. Her husband's pension passed down to her, so she's got that plus excellent health coverage.

I am more and more thankful for Verna's friendship and wisdom as The Lord continues moving in my own heart+life. Its interesting...people who were --paid-- to "help" me did nothing but destroy me, label me, "punish" me, etc. Happens, I see that now, but...wow. Then along comes Verna, and she's actually given me things...little things, like a Bible, stuff like that, but...you see what I'm saying here. She's done more "therapy" simply by being a genuine friend than any "professional" ever did when they were ripping off my parents and insurance back in the day. Ugh.

OK. Please pray for Verna. Thanks. :)

May Almighty God Bless and keep Verna well. May His Face shine upon her, and be gracious to Verna.
May the Lord lift up His countenance on her and give her the Peace Jesus Christ can only give.

In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
