I recently ended my long term relationship with a man I still love. I believe it was the Lord's will and that He has other plans for me. I am still having a hard time with realizing that God is much bigger than this situation. It's very painful and I feel heartbroken. I am very weak when it comes to fighting off sadness, depression and anxiety and I turn to alcohol on a regular basis. I would like to ask for prayer regarding this. I know alcohol will not solve any of my sadness but it's an easy temporary escape for me. Please pray that I turn to the Lord and not alcohol for comfort.

Thank you

Re: Praying for stregth

I am so sorry that you are feeling so sad right now. Just remember that God is faithful and He will give you the strength to go through this. He doesn't always fix things the way we think He should, but He is always doing us good and working out His will....His will goes far beyond our heart's desires. Seek Him, stay in the Word, put on praise music...just surround yourself with the Light. My prayers.

The Lord bless you.

I found this passage on strength. I hope it helps you in your struggles.
Psalm 119:27-29 (New International Version)

27 Let me understand the teaching of your precepts;
then I will meditate on your wonders.

28 My soul is weary with sorrow;
strengthen me according to your word.

29 Keep me from deceitful ways;
be gracious to me through your law.

The Lord is good to us and He will give us strength we did not know we had.
My prayers are with you as you are healed through His love.

God Bless You!

Sister, we are praying for you that you may seek the Lord for solutions, for it is written and said by Christ Jesus, "Peace I give you. Peace I leave with you. Not as the world gives do I give to you." So seek the peace of the Lord, not the comforts of boyfriends and alcohol. I don't mean to sound high and mighty. I've chased after women for most of my life, and it has distracted me from the peace of God, so don't make the same mistake I did when searching for peace in the wrong places.
