I am a Children's Ministry Director for a small Southern Baptist Church. This is a full volunteer position. Neither I, nor any of the others in the Ministry get paid nor generally reimbursed for our expenditures as we do not have the budget for it. Recently, I was ill and missed 6 weeks of Church, classes, etc. During this time, obviously, it was decided that I was ineffectual and a covert campaign to have me removed begun. I regained my health (PRAISE GOD!) and returned to the Ministry. Since then, which was in May, I have missed 45 minutes. However, one of the ladies of the Church has decided that she will recruit my students for a new class that she began. She actually goes to my students and asks them to be in this class. I wouldn't mind so much if she was teaching the approved curriculum, or spoke to me about it first. She is one of the "untouchables" of the Church... no one argues with her, so I am expected to blindly follow her command even though, neither I nor the other volunteers believe what she is teaching is appropriate for young children. She is not the only one that causes issues in the Church and I just don't know what to do about it. I am trying to serve as God and the rules of a Southern Baptist Fellowship dictate, but I just cannot see my way through this. I believe this Church family is under attack by the enemy and I pray God to intervene and change this situation. We are making progress with the children for the Kingdom of God and that is why I believe the enemy is attacking us. We baptized six souls just last month (PTL!). It is my fervent desire to be a holy representative of Christ, and a servant of the Lord, please pray for the attacks to stop, for my discernment, understanding, patience, and love. Thank you and God Bless You.

wow. church politics. this is one reason I'm still not in church...

...anyway, I'll be praying for you and your church :-)

Thank you CE! I feel such a peace there when I am not dealing with this drama so I am loathe to leave... and there are many that support me, I guess I just want a drama free worship...thank you for the prayers.

Dear Sister Jenni, my heart goes out to you in the situation you find yourself. Do not be disheartened because God searches our hearts and knows the direction we take. He also opens doors; “The heart of the kings is in his hand,” and His will is going to be done toward His own. I will say by reading your desire for righteousness and love of others that God is doing that in you to will and to do after His good pleasure, and His continuing work is going to produce that perfect will of God for your life.

You personally living for God is the most effectual tool to disperse all the works of Satan, and no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; those attacks against you will bring to light the intent of the perpetrators. Continue to pray on these matters and allow our Father meet the need in the meeting you attend.

Dear Father, I too pray with Sister Jenni for the truth to be put before the church in whatever city it is, and to profit your word to the hearers that will bring forth fruit to Your glory in Jesus’ name. Amen.

It's great to have you join our fellowship here Jenni. :wave2

Welcome to CFnet, Jenni :wave2

It's sad that you are facing the turmoil that can be found in many churches (today as well as in the past). Church politics can be nasty business. There is hope to be held, though, because our Lord wants all of us to chose a familial relationship with Him. You are not alone in your prayers for the children and older members of your church. My prayers are added with yours as well, for all eyes, hearts & minds to focus on our Lord.

Be blessed!

Dear Lord, I pray that Jenni will be given wisdom to deal with this situation. I pray too for unity in Your church, that all of us may seek Your will and Your wisdom in all things.
