Priceless!

.

solo, that picture is authentic. Michelle did do that.

Here is the article Michelle Maulkin posted on the matter back in March of 2009.

EEEK! :o

Priceless photo of the day: Homeless…with a cellphone
By Michelle Malkin • March 6, 2009 10:26 AM

Pop singer Crystal Waters did a song many years ago called “She’s Homeless.†The hook went like this: “She’s just like you and me, but she is homeless, she is homeless.â€

In D.C., the homeless are just like you and me, and they have cell phones, they have cell phones.

Via Andrew Malcolm, here is one of the homeless cell phone owners snapping a pic of First Lady Michelle Obama — ruining what was supposed to be a sob story photo op of the compassionate Mrs. O catering to the downtrodden.

Say cheese!

Some folks are wondering where the cell phone bills get sent.

The answer is obvious: ACORN headquarters.

You know what this reminds me of? Sharon Jasper, the New Orleans “slum dweller†with…the 60-inch TV.

Remember?

Kathy Shaidle: Yup, there are government programs to give cell phones to the homeless.

The liberals’ argument is that they need cell phones to get jobs.

Do they need Blackberry Pearls?!

they dont need blackberries but it could be more defendable if they were given say a phone with e-911 on it and minutes that needed to be charged along with evidence of looking for said job, apps in that can and should be verified, as people can get around the law. think welfare before some of the reforms and still do now.

It was a sob story photo opportunity. :shame

And Michelle Obama working in a homeless soup kitchen?! Not on your life!

The picture was a "Priceless" take on the incongruity of the Obama's helping the "Poor".

My parents lived on the lower poverty level of society raising five children and did not get government assistance for anything.

It was a sob story photo opportunity. Or you could call it exploitation of the poor for political gain. :shame

She supposedly brought food from the white house to serve.

mmmmmm! mushroom risotto!

I get what Solo meant by saying 'And Michelle Obama "working" in a homeless soup kitchen?! Not on your life! The picture was a "Priceless" take on the incongruity of the Obama's helping the "Poor". '

It was all for show.

Not much different than the one Obama pulled in getting a photo op in Dover!

The photo is just that, a photo. We don't know what is going on there at all, we only see a still moment in time. Is it a volunteer at the shelter that stepped in to take Mrs. Obama's photo? Is it a homeless guy at all? He's black and wearing cold weather clothes, so he must be homeless right? WRONG. We have no idea and only see a picture.

My point exactly. Thanks, Brian.

You are pretty quick to judge without knowing the true circumstances.
You point with one finger and have three pointing back to you.
This saddens me.

Actually, Solo, it more than saddens me when people jump to negative and judgmental conclusions about people they don't know. It disgusts and angers me. I'm sick to death of stereotyping and speculation.

Don't judge others with your perception of what is. Pray for them instead and keep it to yourself, otherwise you are doing the same thing that more than saddens you.

Michelle Obama has never and will never work in a homeless soup kitchen.
Many, many people who receive assistance blow their money on things that are not necessary.
The Priceless picture was a play on the incongruity of the liberal stand on the plight of the poor.
It is my opinion that the liberals could care less about the plight of the poor or they would enact legislation that would really assist them and help the country to really overcome poverty. That is not the goal of the Democrats; only the face that they put on it. Obama's brother lives in poverty in Africa, and dear, sweet, loving Obama has done nothing to assist him.

JoJo was lovingly rebuking us...I suggest everyone accepts it, as were were all guilty of juding and jumping to [possibly the wrong] conclusions.

Thank-you JoJo! :thumbsup

Perhaps JoJo needs rebuked for judging falsely by jumping to conclusions!

Perhaps JoJo was doing the loving thing, and perhaps you should let go of your pride, as others have already done. I mean this in the most loving way possible.

Now you are judging me! What gives with you folks?

No, I am rebuking you. Who are "us folks"?
I rebuke you in the name of Jesus Christ for your disobedience of the Word of God.

  • Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; 1 Timothy 5:1

This is ridiculous people... :shrug

Take a day off and come back and read this thread with a new set of eyes and it becomes clear that to some, this topic has little to do with the picture posted... :oops

Solo, feel free to rebuke me if I need rebuking. But when you do so, please explain clearly to me 1) the false judgments I made, and 2) the conclusions I jumped to.

Since every one is throwing around the "better-than-thou" attitude, I might express that a photo op picture that shows the incongruity of the Obama helping the poor in a sarcastic manner with Michelle Obama working in a soup kitchen with individuals in the soup line taking pictures with a blackberry cell phone is taken to such extremes that you inappropriately "judged" others of "judging," and your point of judgment was never addressed to the specifics of your disdain. I have yet to understand what your deemed as others were judging?

And since every one was in a "rebuking" mode, I made the comment that perhaps you, too, should be rebuked for judging others for judging!

I still don't understand how, by stating what saddens me, I was judging anyone. I was making an observation.

My original post to refresh your memory:

We discussed this photo in a previous thread. There is no way, without knowing the person behind the cell phone, we can make any judgment on why that person has a cell phone. For instance, did you know that cell phones are often donated to homeless people so that they can call 911 if necessary? As long as the cell phone is charged, the user can call 911 and take pictures (if the phone has a camera).

People are too quick to judge and it saddens me.

People are often too quick to judge. Won't you agree?

"It saddens me," is a fact. How is this a judgment on anyone? It is an expression of my feelings, not finger-pointing.

True JoJo, I took it as a rebuke. If you meant it as a rebuke or not, well just thankyou anyway!

Those who sin are to be rebuked publicly, so that the others may take warning. - 1 Timothy 5:20

Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. - 2 Timothy 4:2

This testimony is true. Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith - Titus 1:13

These, then, are the things you should teach. Encourage and rebuke with all authority. Do not let anyone despise you. - Titus 2:15

And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, - Hebrews 12:5

Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. - Revelation 3:19

Thankyou for taking the initiative JoJo. I am humbled.
