Prosecuted for a hate crime instead of murder….scary

I read on line (maybe faulty source) that the perpetrator of the latest gun shooting will be charge with a “hate” crime. This is more scary than the crime. If we start prosecuting people for what they think or feel, terrible tyranny is around the corner. ANYONE can be charge with “hate” crime as it cannot be proven and doesn’t need to be. The crime is your feelings, not your deeds. And the powers that be can insist they KNOW you have unlawful FEELINGS! Scary!!!

They do include “murder” but it’s just included.

Justice and freedom are thereby lost.

Just tell them that you're homophobic and are scared of them. I mean, who knows what one of those people would do if they got a chance to put their hands on you? And it diesn't matter if they tell you that they are a tame homo because it is still literal insanity no matter you slice it. So they can be considered to be potentially dangerous.

And everybody knows that if you can articulate a fear then you can take any action to defend yourself from an insane person that brings that fear about. So you don't lose any Justice or Freedom. They just better keep their distance, that all. Lol.

In most violent and major crimes, motivation has always been a factor. The modern idea of a "hate crime" is just an extension (IMO unreasonable extension) of that reality.

But it is my understanding that the hate crime has to be charged in conjunction with another crime like murder, assault, arson, etc. So the guy will get charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon and the hate crime will be added on top of the others.

IMO the hate part is irrelevant. If I kill someone, does it change anything if I did it because the person had a certain skin color, or spoke a certain language, or parked his car on my lawn?
He is just as dead either way.

Only if it was premeditated or if an observed feeling was sufficient for motive. Played no role if the perpetrator was angry or not, just if he did it or not.

No it’s really different and isn’t limited any action at all. Hate itself is a crime. This is the door to persecuting any group the government wants to as accusing a person of hate doesn’t need any evidence.

For now, but speech, an actual right, is in the crosshairs.

For now. But it is sold to the public as mainly hate with murder on top.

It does now. It didn’t used to be you are right. Your view, unfortunately is not politically correct anymore.

Well the justice system is interested in the perpetrator.

And how exactly does that work?

How can you prove in a court of law that a person thinks or feels a certain way "beyond a reasonable doubt?" That is the constitutional standard for criminal court. Besides, there are many freedoms enshrined in the bill of rights that would preclude such a thing.

I have never been politically correct. And I am not about to start at my age.

That is not the standard used in lgtb hate crimes.

The level of evidence is, " I felt threatened by the accused words."
Look at j.k Rowlands how as a woman survivor of abuse, she has been revialled and ignored by the film industry for objecting to men using woman's changing areas.

The blog wintery knight is a good one for keeping upto date with the insanity of lgtb lunacy.

In Canada I believe, some speech is now “hate speech.” It could be that if a pastor read parts out of the Bible, he could be arrested for hate crime. It starts slowly. It’s measured by someone else!s feelings. There’s an example here. It’s a rule that you cannot tell anyone else that they are wrong. It might hurt their pride, opps, feelings. So that’s the same in a smaller version. Truth is sacrificed on the alter of another man’s pride/feelings. That’s how it works.

Freedom of speech is already curbed. Freedom of religion is curbed. There are only “zones” where this is allowed. And no protest.

Sounds good. I’m with ya.

And hate is allowed against other groups. You can hate those who refused the Covid injections. You can write hateful words on a person youtube presentation if they’re not a favored group. You can hate those who oppose woke theory.

Genesis 9:6 Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.

Is there a conflict between these two scriptures, no.

Murder is the crime of unlawfully killing a person especially with malice or forethought. Murder, therefore, is distinguished from killing by the issue of motive.

Jesus identified that motive behind murder as anger in Matthew 5:21, 22. Christ goes to the root of the behavior and sees the anger behind the action. The act of murder is still subject to the punishement in Genesis 9:6.

In Exodus 20:13 God forbids murder as He emphasizes the value of human life because we are all made in His image, but God also shows us that killing doesn't always fall under the category of murder.

Situations where killing is not murder as in accidental death or in self-defense where one is allowed to protect themself, Exodus 22:2, 3; Deuteronomy 19; Nehemiah 4:11-14. Exodus 22:2, 3. If a thief breaks into your house at night time and is struck that he would die there is no blood guilt on the who causes the thief to die. But if it is during the daylight then the punishment of Genesis 9:6 would apply as the thief life was valued . So even after the command in Exodus 20:13 God permits the taking of a life if one's own life is in potential danger. While reasonable self-defense is recognized in scripture, value for human life is the rule.

Capital Punishment

Genesis 9:6 God established capital punishement even before giving the law of "Thou shall not kill" to Moses. The punishment in Genesis 9:6 speaks to the severity of the crime. The taking of a life warrants a punishment as in a death for a death. It's not given for vengeance, but for justice and the role of justice is carried out by one specific office, Romans 13:1-6.

Just Wars

In the OT we read that at times God commands battles between nations. These wars were God's hand of justice against the wicked. There is a difference between the act of murder and a death in battle. In the NT the Church is not a nation that goes to war anymore as the kingdom of God is not of this world, John 18:36. We no longer fight for territory or possessions, but the wicked of even today will be punished according to the law God established in Genesis 9:6.

Deuteronomy 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. 40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever. 41 If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me.

I have no idea of England's court standards, but here in the US it is "beyond a reasonable doubt."

No. The translation of Ex 20.13 is incorrect. The Hebrew word rendered "kill" should more properly be translated "murder."

To take it as translated there, even God Himself would be guilty of that. He ordered Israel to kill every man woman child and animal in many cases in taking and defending the Promised Land.

That is right, I remember that. That's a good reminder to not start popping caps too soon in the daytime, uness he is shooting at you or about to and you can see a weapon.

We do not struggle against flesh and blood people though, but the evil spirits on earth putting that man under semonic oppression so he will turn against you.. Conclusion, try not to have to shoot them unless they force you to. There's almost always a way to defuse the situation and I've been very close to dropping the hammer on someone before. Forward motion is aggression and rearward motion is don't shoot. He chose rearward motion that day, thank God! I've been real lucky, I've carried a pistol for close to 40 years now and I havent ever shot anyone. Praise the Lord for that! He was with me. :)

What would be the difference between kill or murder as both are death and in what God had killed was justified. We are not God and in all things we might not be justified in our actions that are carried out.

If I ever have to shoot someone, it's going to be because the Spirit told me to, because I don't go out alone. :wink

So many people say you should have a hand gun for defense, but I say I have the best protection which is Christ Jesus. If someone wants to rob me, have at it as they are not going to get much, or kill me then so be it as I will lay in my grave in rest from the problems of this world and wait upon the Lords return.
