I could finish a psychology degree online faster than a business degree. I don't think about business very often. Mental health...kinda fascinates me. I could potentially get the psychology degree and get to work on a masters. But then again, an undergrad business degree could maybe possibly get me a job (?), but...wow.

I'm just getting frustrated. I like the business program OK, but I think I want to go into counseling and get out of this area.

I seems your interest is leaning more toward psychology so I would go with that. A business degree isn't worth much if you're not interested in business.

You're not getting any younger. You've done a lot of great work - with Jesus's help - getting yourself straight (pun intended) and now it's time to be very focused on becoming independent and productive. You owe it to yourself and your family. Please talk to a counselor and get good advice on where to go next.

I pray God continues to bless you.

You have a first hand background for psychology that could help in a major way to help others going through what you have already went through and dealt with through the grace of God. We need not dwell on our past as that is all forgotten to God, but we can use our past for that of the present and future in counseling others as IMO that is an area you might want to think and pray about as becoming a counselor.

Thanks. I'm thinking that mental health may be the job for me. I mean, I'm not gung-ho about it, but I do need to a degree to get A job that will pay my bills and offer some satisfaction. Business seemed like a good idea but now, I think maybe I can have a good impact on people as a counselor.

You're getting good advice here. Think for a moment about really successful people that you see in clips on TV, on the news and stuff. like Trump, the president, rich successful people...what do you notice about them when you see them?

They're always surrounded by a bunch of people. A team of advisers. Go talk to a guidance counselor...and then go talk to 20 other people.

I agree that it is important that you like and have interest in what you do. Not only will you excel in it, but your work related stress would be less.
