Purpose of the Great Trib

Hi Guys,

Do you suppose the great...trib could be special and unique as far as tribulations go?

In other places this time is referred to as the time of distress etc. I would especially like to see your comments on this bit from Luke.
Luke 21
There will be great distress in the land and wrath against this people.

This is between the abomination and the seeing the son on the clouds just as the great trib was.

Rev 14:14-20 shows that the wrath takes place AS the son is coming as you suggest, no doubt about that, but all of that has to fit in with the twinkling of an eye later in 1 Cor 15 and verses like that.

Now all this still leaves us with the believers who die from NOW ON as described by REV 14:13. I'm sure someone has pointed out how they read verse 13, but I'm blocked again.

Hosea 5:15 I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.

Jeremiah 16:19 O יהוה, my strength, and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the Gentiles shall come unto thee from the ends of the earth, and shall say, Surely our fathers have inherited lies, vanity, and things wherein there is no profit.

Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

All underlined words being tzarah (except Hosea 5:15, the word being tzar but all taken from the root tzarar).

As far as I can tell, the GT is allowed to happen so יהוה can make a triumphant, miraculous intervention and rescue (salvation) when his people (Israel/the congregation) from both houses of Jacob realize their errors and turn to Elohim.

Judah (as a whole) remains without blood atonement of Messiah. Ephraim Israel has been redeemed (Hosea 7:13) but is caught up in many Torah-less versions of Christianity. The GT is a wake up call for all Israel. The gentiles will persecute them, but יהוה will return from his place where he went back to (Hosea 5:15, speaking of the first advent of Messiah and his ascension back into heaven) and deliver them.
