Rapture Pet Care

I can't believe what I just saw over at that other site, and I am willing to bet, that get some takers.

:bigfrown :nono

It's a scam.
If it's a joke, it's not funny.
I can't believe anyone would actually trust this site.

the sad thing is that some poor elderly person will fall for that, as they may only have their pet. :mad

Yes, true. :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad

I DO find it kind of funny. However, I would find it a lot funnier if they didn't include the Paypal button at the bottom of the page so people could submit $110.00 into the site, thinking their animals are going to be fed and cared for once the rapture comes to sweep them away. There should be warning labels for sites like these, so dumb people don't accidentally give away their life savings to "save" Fido.

But uh...are scams illegal?

Um, I don't want to be flamed here but let me ask a question...

Why is everyone so certain that it's a scam? Let us assume for a moment that they fully intend to provide the promised service, is there something else that makes this a scam?

Please educate me.

Rich: Well, if you want to give your money to them, far be it from us to stop you...

Uh, well they're all confirmed athiests, so they don't believe the rapture is coming! If they did, then it's a good chance that they're not athiests!

LOL - well I don;t plan on giving them any money! :)

I guess I can understand the catch-22 aspect (as Nick stated). I just wondered if there was something else I was missing.

WOW, ...well that beats all :o

I thought the same thing as Nick....if they don't believe in the Rapture at all, then they are signing up for this thinking "sure, I'll take their money because I won't be required to do anything anyway". And in the FAQs section there is this:

Q: Do YOU believe in the Rapture.
A: As atheists we do not hold beliefs in the supernatural or a divine being. Thus, we do not believe in the Rapture. However, we respect the beliefs of others and are open to the possibility that our perspective could possibly be wrong.

Q: How do you ensure your representatives won't be Raptured.
A: Actually, we don't ensure it, they do. Each of our representatives has stated to us in writing that they are atheists, do not believe in God / Jesus, and that they have blasphemed in accordance with
Mark 3:29, negating any chance of salvation.

I don't like that at all, it's as though some Christians would RATHER someone not be saved just so their beloved pet could have a home :nono There's just something seriously wrong with that...

Actually, it's totally funny. Lol.

And, yes, they should come through on their promise to take care of people's pets. There is a contract on the site. Should be legally binding I believe.

Should the rapture come, surprised as they might be, you're right. It's a legally binding contract that they'd have to follow up on.

You're right, age doesn't necessarily factor into gullibility.

no, but many of those internet scams do target the elderly, and that really why i said that.

much of the florida populus is 65 plus, that why i tend to see that scam towards that. what else does one do in florida as the reputation says vacation or retire.
