Reason why some have backslidden

The delayed (or seemingly delayed) coming of Christ.

"...Prepare your way for the coming of the Lord is at hand..." That was said somewhere in the old testament. And that was hundreds of years ago.

My granparents choroused HIS coming. They believed HE would come the next day. People in the 70's believed HE would come in their 70's.

Probably, some have given up waiting for HIS coming - some have backslidden already. I keep wondering what could have happened if HE had come 100 years ago. Perhaps GOD has a reason why HE's not sent HIS son yet.

God, help us drink from the river of patience and endurance.

2 Peter 3:3-9

For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.†<sup class="versenum">5 </sup>For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water, <sup class="versenum">6 </sup>through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water. <sup class="versenum">7 </sup>But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.

I do not think I have ever read this portion of the bible ever since I was born. Thank you for the verses:nod Tremendous discovery.

It is ONLY in this generation that the prophecies concerning His Return has come into new light. Since the rebirth of Israel in 1947, several BIG prophecies have already come to pass, but unfortunately many simply do not know Scripture well enough to see it. They are not truly WATCHING, and the soon-coming events will happen so fast it'll take them completely by surprise and they won't know what happened. Just because people have their head in the sand won't delay the Return of King.... He's right on schedule.
