Rebuilding The Temple Will Cause God To Sin

Recently I listened to a Christian radio program and all the guests, as well as the host, droned on and on as to how horrible their sins were before they 'came to Jesus'. The whole show was more about their sin than the saving grace of Jesus Christ in offering them salvation and forgiveness.

The next day the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart as I was so annoyed as to how Christianity has become so narcissistic where Christians have hijacked the cross, taken Jesus off the cross, and then nailed themselves onto the cross to make them the center of attention.

It states in the bible that God will remember our sins no longer for those who come to believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. But will Christians remember their sins for God instead? I can imagine where Christians in heaven will be showing off their own bruised and battered body blatantly parading the scars of their sin right in front of Jesus Christ who is God become man and who promised to remember our sins no more.

It also states in the bible that all those who are saved by a belief in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ will be given a new body, and name, in heaven. This new body and name is God fulfilling his promise to remember our sins no longer for if we still retained our old battered and bruised body it would reveal all of the scars, and evidence, of our sins.

Notice that only Jesus Christ will retain his original body in heaven, complete with scars and bruises, for Jesus died without sin so his body doesn't reveal any of Jesus Christ's own sin. If Jesus were given a new body in heaven then it would indicate that Jesus wasn't truly sinless for God said that he will remember our sins no longer.

Jesus knew that when he suffered all the cruelty of mankind, as he went to die on the cross for all of our sins, that he will forever retain his own battered and bruised body in heaven in order for all of his faithful believers to be given new names and bodies as an eternal sign of their forgiveness that Christ purchased on the cross of Calvary.

Which brings us back to the narcissistic Christians who drone on and on about their own sins at the foot of the cross as they try to climb up the cross to get a selfie with Jesus Christ. I wonder what people will regret more once they are in heaven, not having their own body to show off all their sins, or using Jesus Christ's own battered and bruised body to show off what their sins did to God instead.

People always wonder why God blesses one person more than another. It is simply because the blessed person will not keep putting their sins, or the sins of others, in front of God through prayer or complaint. In fact church and synagogue/temple rituals are man placing their sins before God over and over again even though God said that he will remember our sins no more once we believe in Jesus Christ. When Jesus Christ finished the job of securing our forgiveness and salvation on the cross our sins became swallowed up into God's love.

The evidence on earth that God doesn't remember our sins any more is the temple in Jerusalem being destroyed. The destruction of the temple was God declaring that all those who now believe in his son Jesus Christ WILL have ALL their sins forgiven and forgotten! When mankind tries to rebuild the temple they will be rebuilding their own sin, not their salvation! Rebuilding the temple is man forcing God to remember our sins and causing God to go back on his word not to remember our sins.

Believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and rest assured that your sins will be forgiven and you'll spend eternity in heaven with a new name and body to ensure that God (hint: God the Father – God the Son Jesus Christ – God the Holy Spirit) will never remember our individual sins ever again!

I gave my testimony in college once. It was about me. Since then I've thought about it and after listening to the testimonies of others I realized that too often (but not always) the emphasis is about the wrong person. It's all about Jesus and the work of the Holy Spirit in a person's life. It's a work of God that brought us to salvation, no matter our background. Testimonies about the faithfulness of God promote the right message.

OTOH, I heard a man tell his life story. He's the author of The Shack. I have good reasons for wanting to know more about him but that's not the point. Hearing his story, which was all about him, was powerful. It told me a lot about the shack (which I've not read but plan on reading). I understand so much more of the story behind the book.

Testimonies about how we came to faith should focus on the work of God in our lives and on the person of Jesus. But stories are important too. We are made for stories. God designed us that way. I can capture a crowd of little kids with the magic of stories. When we tell the story of our life, it can, in proper context, provide a background of understanding for our listeners.

I listen to a podcast of Dr Brown from time to time. He has an interesting back story of his life. A former drug addict but God got ahold of him. He's Jewish but a believer in Jesus. His personal story gives his testimony greater context.

My story is bland. I've been a believer since a child. No big change from very very bad to saved. But wait, there are two sets of footprints throughout my life's journey. Jesus has traveled with me all the way. And along the way, He's taught me. He still teaches me. At 65 He's still working out the bugs in the broken man I am. (short of perfection, we're all broken). My testimony is one of God's faithfulness in all my good times and bad. His promises are true and He is what life is all about. Without God in my life, what an empty life it would be.

Mathew, Mark, and Luke tell of the time when Jesus healed a demon possessed man, and the demons left the man into a herd of pigs. At the end of this occurrence both Mark and Luke tell of how the healed man wanted to follow Jesus, but Jesus said otherwise. Jesus used the man's testimony to reach the people that rejected Jesus Himself.

My story is dramatic ... and I hate to tell it, precisely because people will focus on all of the wrong things.

I am actually most fascinated by the story of people who grew up in a Christian home, were saved at an early age and have a hard time remembering ever NOT having Jesus as part of their life. For me, it is easy to believe that God can do big, dramatic things. I've seen that. The stories of a God who is always there and faithful for 1000 generations are something that I struggle to imagine ... and something that gives me encouragement for my daughter, and her yet unborn children, and their children.

I come from three generations of the unsaved (minimum), but I am the first of 1000 generations that love and serve Him. The goal for me is to never forget where I came from, without being tempted to dwell there. You just never know when you might meet someone whe needs to know that God can clean up ANY mess. That's when I tell them about how Jesus cleaned up mine.

God has always forgiven the sin of anyone who repented and confessed.
Psa 32:1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.
Psa 32:5 I acknowledged my sin to thee, and I did not hide my iniquity; I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD"; then thou didst forgive the guilt of my sin.

By Jesus death and resurrection mankind was freed from the consequence of sin which is death.
Rom 6:23a For the wages of sin is death,

Where we spend eternity depends on how our actions match with our belief.

Jesus said:
John 3:36 He who believes in the Son has eternal life;
he who does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God rests upon him.

and

John 5:28-29 … the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—
those who have done good, to the resurrection of life,
and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

Just believing without acting on that belief will get you a free ride to the lake of fire where you will find Satan and all his demons who also believed that Jesus is the holy one of God but did not repent and obey God.

Luke 4:34 "Ah! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God."

Jas 2:19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe--and shudder.
