since some are confused on this stuff.
theres are two levelsof redemption mentioned by the bible. one is from bondage to an opressor on a physical level(egypt, and isreal herself ) egypt opressed the hebrews severely. isreal after the cross did the same with the church. both were decimated by god for doing that. this is for the purpose of god "purchasing" a people unto himself.
the other level of redemption has occured and is ocurring. this occured at the cross and will be finished when Jesus returns. this is where futurist get confused with matthew 24 and also romans with that pauline statement with the whole creation cryeth out for redemption. this is from the first few chapters of genesis with the jewish though of all things having a ruach(spirit and alive). the idea of a near kinsmen redeemer has these both in mind. the redeemer here has to be realated to the person in bondage(sold land or a widow without seed) and must be willing to redeem. jesus did just that at the cross. we are in bondage to the power of sin and he set us free. this will eventually cause the entire earth to be renewed when he so desires.
