Praise God, the Rapture will bring the completed manifestation of Christ’s Finished Work for us at Calvary! For the Believer, the Rapture is Independence Day! Once and for all, we will be totally and completely freed from our corrupted nature, freed from all effects of sin! Glory to God! Let’s take a closer look at the events taking place in Heaven (which parallel the events of the Tribulation on Earth). All Believers must appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ according to II Corinthians 5:10. Remember this is not for the purpose of dealing with sin, however, a careful ledger has been kept of every work the Believer has performed since he became a Christian (Mat. 12:36; Rom. 14:12; II Cor. 5:10).
Believers will be judged on the basis of:
1. Doctrinal Beliefs – true or false (Rom. 2:14-16; 14:1-10).
2. Conduct toward others – kind or unkind (Mat. 18:10; Mk. 9:41; II Tim. 4:14).
3. Stewardship – faithful or unfaithful (Mat. 25:14-29; Lk. 12:42-44; I Cor. 4:1-5).
4. Words – good or bad (Mat. 12:36-37; Eph. 4:29).
5. Talents – used or wasted (Mat. 5:15-16; Mk. 4:25).
6. Attitudes – Christlike or selfish (Mat. 6:1-7; Eph. 4:30-32).
7. Motives – right or wrong (Mat. 6:16-18; Lk. 14:12-14).
8. Traits – Spiritual or carnal (Rom. 2:1-6; Col. 3:8-16).
9. Every Deed – worthy or worthless (Mk. 9:41; Col. 3:23-25).
The deeds performed in a worthy manner will be rewarded, but those deeds Christ judges unworthy will be burned and will cause the Believer lost rewards (I Cor. 3:12-15).
The following rewards have been promised for faithful service to the Lord:
1. Victor’s Crown (I Cor. 9:25).
2. Crown of Righteousness (II Tim. 4:8).
3. Crown of Rejoicing (I Thess. 2:19).
4. Crown of Life (James 1:12).
5. Crown of Glory (I Pet. 5:4).
6. Martyr’s Crown (Rev. 2:10).
7. Crown of Gold (Rev. 4:4).
And because Scripture clearly indicates that it is possible for someone else to take our crown (Rev. 3:11), it behooves every Christian to be diligent in his service to the King of kings! Believers will also be given a mansion in which to live eternally (Jn. 14:2), and Christ will determine the amount of earthly rulership to give each Saint based on his faithfulness to God in this present life (Lk. 19:12-26). Believers will reign as kings and priests with Christ forever (Rev. 1:6; 5:10). Following the Judgment Seat of Christ will be the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. This speaks of the Bride of Christ, all the redeemed from every Dispensation who will live in the New Jerusalem. “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His Wife has made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the Righteousness of Saints. And he said unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. And he said unto me, These are the true sayings of God” (Rev. 19:7-9). What a time of reunion, celebration, and worship Believers have in store! Are you ready? Are you in a committed, Covenant relationship with Christ? Are you a Bride adorned for her Husband? Is your heart singing, “. . . when I hear that last trumpet sound, my feet won’t stay on the ground”? If your answers are “yes,” then, as my husband often says, “Well, Glory!”

“WATER FROM THE ROCK
7 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
8 Take the rod (the same rod with which Moses had smitten the Rock in Rephidim [Ex. 17:6]), and you gather the Assembly together, you, and Aaron your brother, and you speak unto the Rock before their eyes (the “Rock” represents Christ, and what He would do at Calvary to redeem fallen humanity; it had already been smitten, typifying the once-for-all Sacrifice of Christ [Heb. 10:12]; to call forth the blessings was all that was now needed); and it shall give forth his water, and you shall bring forth to them water out of the Rock (typifying the Work of the Holy Spirit that would be made possible by Christ and what He did at the Cross; Christ is the Source, while the Cross is the Means): so you shall give the congregation and their beasts drink.
9 And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as He commanded him.
10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the Rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, you rebels; must we fetch you water out of this Rock? (In his irritation, Moses placed himself and Aaron in the position of supplying the water, when the Lord Alone could do such a thing.)
11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the Rock twice (the Lord told him to speak to the Rock, not smite the Rock; to smite the Rock, in essence, greatly abrogated the Type; the Rock smitten in Rephidim was a Type of the Sacrifice of Christ on the Cross; to smite the Rock again, in essence, stated that the first Sacrifice was insufficient, and would have to be repeated; such a sin was great! Regrettably, much of the modern Church world continues to smite the Rock, committing the same sin as Moses; in fact, the sin is much worse presently, because the Rock is now history instead of prophetic): and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also (we should not mistake the Blessings of the Lord for the approval of the Lord; that is always a mistake).
THE PENALTY
12 And the LORD spoke unto Moses and Aaron, Because you believed Me not, to sanctify Me in the eyes of the Children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them. (The penalty, i.e., “chastisement,” was severe, because the sin was severe. Is the Lord saying to the modern Church Leaders, “Because you believe Me not, to sanctify Me in the eyes of Believers?” Anything that denigrates the Cross is sin, gross sin!)
13 This is the water of Meribah (strife); because the Children of Israel strove with the LORD, and He was sanctified in them (in that He brought water out of the Rock, despite the sin of Moses; Paul said, “And that Rock was Christ” [I Cor. 10:4]).”

Now that you are saved, you should ask the Lord to baptize you with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:4).
While it is certainly true the Holy Spirit came into your heart and life the moment of your Salvation, still, He now wishes to endure you with power from on high. Consequently, Jesus told all of His followers immediately before His Ascension, that they should "wait for the Promise of the Father" (Acts 1:4). He was speaking of being "Baptized with the Holy Spirit" (Acts 1:5).
You must understand that there is a great difference in being "born of the Spirit" than being " Baptized with the Spirit." They are two different works altogether.
To be "born of the Spirit" is that which took place at your conversion, as the Holy Spirit brought you to Christ and performed the work of regeneration within your heart and life. To be "Baptized with the Spirit" is in order that you may have Power with God (Acts 1:8). Every Believer should ask the Lord to fill them with the Holy Spirit, and expect to receive (Luke 11:13).

The only avenue of seeing the Lord is Holiness (Hebrews 12:14)

LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH
Faith is dead without works!
James 2:17,20
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
One of the biggest misunderstandings in Scripture is this verse. It has been looked at without considering who is behind the works which God looks at and sees as the works of FAITH. Remember this, God only honors what God does, and God is only pleased with what God does. We know this because Jesus told us that we can do no-thing without Him (John 15:5), and He spoke in the context of bearing fruit (works).
So therefore, let us look at this in new Light today. The works that take place when FAITH is FAITH which God honors, that being FAITH in the Cross of Jesus Christ are the WORKS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Remember that we are co-laborers, not just laborers. If the Holy Spirit isn’t allowed through the LEGAL process of God to work in our lives, FAITH is dead, meaning it is simply in the wrong object, and our works are only ours and are considered by God to be dead works. The LEGAL process of the Holy Spirit is through one’s FAITH in the Cross of Jesus Christ, and there we will see the fruit of FAITH.

Faith is dead without works!

Proverbs 21:21
He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
Only those who “Follow after” righteousness and mercy will find and experience Life, Righteousness and honor.
The only Way to follow after righteousness and mercy is to follow after the One who is our Lord of Righteousness and mercy before God, Jesus Christ. Here’s what must be known about following Christ. Anyone who does not have their faith in the work of Christ at the Cross is not following Christ, as He taught that to follow Him one would have to deny himself, take up his cross (Faith in His sacrificial work at Calvary), and then He can be followed (Luke 9:23).
Every Word that God has ever spoken is “In Righteousness” (Proverbs 8:8), and for faith to come, we must hear God’s Word in its proper context (Romans 10:17), or it will not be faith which comes, but the corruption of our flesh. The Bible says the Spirit is Life because of Righteousness (Romans 8:10), and this Righteousness is the result of God’s love and mercy toward us through our faith in the death of Christ (Colossians 1:20). Outside of faith in the sacrifice of Christ “Daily”, this honor will not be found, and no man will see the Lord through us.
Seeking God in His Word and experiencing Him through faith in the sacrifice of Christ!

VERSE of the DAY

- MARK 9:23
TOO MANY TIMES, we look at the smallness of our needs and believe them to be insignificant, or we think that God will not take the time to meet them. Instead of focusing on the size of a need, I believe the Lord would have us consider the need itself. After all, it's not the size of the need that matters but rather believing that God is able to meet our need, whatever the size. Remember, what might be small to you, may be huge to someone else. The need of the man who came to Christ was impossible in his eyes, but I pray we see the importance of what this man did. His son was demon possessed, and he knew that his only option was Christ. He Was in an impossible situation, just as you might feel that you are in an impossible situation.
We must understand the importance of going before them Lord in prayer and bringing all of our needs to Him. In fact, the Lord encourages us to do this, no matter how great or small our needs may be, we can bring them to the Lord, and He will be sure to hear us. I want to take this moment and encourage you, dear reader, to take all of your needs to Him. Don't be discouraged by thinking that your needs are too small or too insignificant for Him to answer. The Lord delights whenever a child of His comes and asks Him to meet a particular need. He desires to do the impossible, providing that whatever is being asked aligns with His will. So take this opportunity to go before Him-not just with some of your needs, but all of your needs, whatever they might be-and believe Him to meet those needs.
God is not limited by natural means, nor is He limited by what is happening in the world. The only thing that limits God is our lack of faith. Faith is the only currency that spends in heaven, and, as the Bible states, without faith, its impossible to please God.
Remember this: if God can make the sun stand still, then there is nothing that He cannot do. Believe that. Don't underestimate what God can do! Jesus said, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believe." Jesus also said, "With men, it is impossible. But with God, all things are possible."
Whatever the need, God's got it!
Whatever the situation, God's got it!
Whatever the sickness, God's got it!
Whatever the problem, God's got it!
Claim it right now, believer. God has whatever you need. Go to Him in prayer, and believe that God is able to do whatever it is you need Him to do.

Yup. My points, though? You've ignored them.
I don't think you understood my point about the cross. It's just a piece of wood; nothing more. The cross on which Jesus died has no power. It was likely used to crucify other people after Jesus and is now long gone, dissolved by time into dust. What do you mean, then, when you speak of the power of the Cross? The cross has meaning only in connection to Jesus, "the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world." If Jesus had not been nailed to a cross, the cross would be nothing to the Christian but a device of torture and execution used by ancient Romans. But on the cross, the blood of Jesus was poured out and his life given in atonement for our sin. This is why the cross has any significance for the Christian person. All of that significance, though, is coming from Christ, not a rough assemblage of wood used to kill criminals.
The preaching of the cross is another way of saying the preaching of the atonement of Christ for sinners on a cross. The key thing isn't the cross, but the God-Man who died upon it. You could preach about the cross for hours, telling of its shape, its smell, its weight, its stains, wood-grain and nail holes, but without Christ, without the Good News of his atonement for our sin, a description of the cross has no power whatever to save.

That should be "affects" (a verb) not "effects" (a noun). I get these two confused myself sometimes.
Anyway, the cross, as I pointed out, is just a bit of wood, used to nasty ends. On a cross, CHRIST cleansed the stain of our sin. HIS cross, the place of his atonement for our sin, dealt with our "old man," the ultimate source of all of our sin. (Romans 6:6). But if JESUS had not died on a cross, we would care nothing for any cross.

And He requires we remain in humble submission before Him, too. If one's faith does not lead one into such a position before God, it is likely one has not understood the Gospel. (Romans 10:9-10, Romans 6:13-22; Romans 12:1; James 4:6-10; 1 Peter 5:6)
Jesus without a blood-atonement is "another Gospel," yes, but the cross is not the important thing; Christ's atonement is. Sometimes, I think believers make too much of the cross, as though a Roman instrument of torture and death is itself a thing of divine power. See above.
Oh? I'm all about a resurrected Jesus in whom I have been placed by the Holy Spirit and in whom I have new, spiritual life. I'm all about him, not some ancient tool of Roman cruelty.
