repentance

you don,t need repentance ? did you die on the cross and resurrect in 3 days? if not then you need repentance which means to turn from to change our mind . i will come back to this after Church. but i would hope that you would study the word repent .
But that's the works gospel Paul warned us about. If I have to do anything to be saved that means I'm trying to earn my own salvation.

since when? did peter have to repent? after he denied the LORD 3 times? did David repent after being told thou art the man. have you ever done any thing wrong since being saved? then you repented

repentance Is Foundational To Christianity
The writer of Hebrews taught (among other elementary teachings) that repentance is a foundational Christian principle:Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God (Heb. 6:1).We'll soon examine some of the "acts that lead to death." Paul told the Roman Christians that sin leads to spiritual death (Rom. 6:16) and James warned how this "death" occurs:But each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Don't be deceived, my dear brothers (Jam. 1:14-16).
In NET: repent 8, Repent 4, you repent 2, they would have repented 2, they did repent 2, they repented 2, to repent 2, who repents 2, did repent 1, all should repent 1, you do repent 1, I repent 1, have repented 1, he repents 1, they repent 1, they still refused to repent 1, they will repent 1, they would repent 1
In AV: repent 34

No, I tell you! But unless you repent, 1 you will all perish as well!

repentance is something we must do. if you feel no need to humble your self repent turn from. so beit nut i find many times i was wrong and had to change my mind :readbible the bible says
2 Timothy 3:16.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for{ reproof, for correction,} for instruction in righteousness:
if this does nothing more than debate back and forth with you on repentance . i will ask it be closed.
Then explain to our lovely audience how the need to repent does not make the gospel a gospel of a person doing right in order to be saved.

(Ezra, you know I'm playing you like a fiddle, right? :lol)

Okay, Ezra has abruptly left the stage.....uh, we'll turn you over to our traffic reporter now.

Buzz, how's traffic looking in the downtown area right now?

Not entirely sure what's going on in this thread as some posts have been edited (removed). But I just wanted to say that repentance is necessary to salvation.

John the Baptist told the people "Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matthew 3:7). Jesus stated those same words in Matthew 4:17 (see also Mark 1:15). Christ also said, "I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance" (Matthew 9:13; see also Mark 2:17 and Luke 5:32). "Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish" (Luke 13:3, 5).

When the Lord sent the twelve disciples out, "they...preached that men should repent" (Mark 6:12). And after Pentecost, Christ's followers pretty much told everyone to repent (see Acts 2:38; 3:19; 17:30; 20:21; 26:20).

Just or righteous person need no repentance. That is, they need not turn from their ways as they're already right with God. Sinners, on the other hand, need to repent; they need to turn from their sinful ways toward the path of righteousness.

We're all sinners and therefore need to repent. Faith in God isn't enough. We must do as John the Baptist says and "bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance" (Matthew 3:8; see also Acts 26:20). Faith is supported by works, and our works reveal if we have truly repented or not. If we have, then our behavior will be in line with the teaching of Christ. And that is evidence of faith. If not, then our behavior will be against the commandments of the Lord, which is proof of faithlessness.

Faith without works is dead (James 2:20, 26), but we must all repent (turn from sin) in order to do the good works that prove our faith.

Cheers! :)

What happened is ezra did not see I was giving him an opportunity to explain why repentance is necessary for salvation. There is no such thing as 'faith alone' in the salvation experience of a true believer. Faith alone justifies, but a faith that is alone (absent of works) is a faith that can not justify.

And don't forget those calls for the churches in Revelation to repent (Revelation 2:5,2:16,2:21-22,3:3,3:19). To say that we're under grace and have no need to repent is to misunderstand both grace and repentance.

could it not be said that repentance is a command just as love and forgivness are ?
Could it not be said that if we do not repent of our sins daily and cary our sins with us that we hinder what all God can do in our lives ?
