Revelation 10 commentary

Where is a rapture recorded in scripture? Is the sweet and bitter whats written in that little book? Scripture says that book is in heaven sealed until that day.

It's the gathering of the Bride at the Lord's coming.
Did you want the verses?

Yes, the little book is in heaven. It's being opened on that day.
This takes place just before the 7th trump, as you said.
That's also when the Bride will be gathered.
This is all just my opinion, of course.
I don't think anyone has a market on that book.

We see from this verse that the Bride has been taken before the 7 vial of God's wrath are poured out.
Rev. 21:9-10 said:
And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife. And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

gloryd,

Since the same person ate the book, and it was sweet in the mouth and bitter in the belly of that person, then there is a part of a person that is saved and another part of a person that is lost.

Joe

No, John is told to eat the book. He's definately saved.
The little book is the Mystery of God.
It's always something to do with the Church.

It's associated with the Kingdom.
The Kingdom was established when Jesus came the first time, and will come in full at our Lord's second coming. That's when the harvest will separate the sheep from the goats. That's why I think the sweet is referring to the saved and the bitter to the lost.

I've always considered the Book John was told to eat represents The Word of God. We're told the reason he was to eat It was because he was called to prophesy before many nations, tongues, peoples and kings.

Also, the angel held the Book in his hand, and John said give It to him. But the angel said John must TAKE It. To me that represents taking God's Word into the mind, given understanding. And from that understanding and the wisdom It contains, It is sweet to the taste, but also bitter in the belly. It's sweet because of the good things It teaches, but also bitter at the same time because of the hard things It contains.

Your the first person to figure it out Veteran. I did not say that it means that, because I wanted to see if anyone could figure it out. It is indeed speaking of the word of God (scriptures.) But notice that Christians must go again to preach the word of God throughout the world. Again, I do not say why.

Who do you think that angel (messenger) in chapter 10 is? In order for him to lead the seven thunders he must have some kind of authority.

:)

This angel in rev 10 is a picture of the body of Christ at that time period that is why it looks very similar to Jesus. It is not one literal angel or person, but the unified body of Christ in the tribulation period that is coming fully into the image of Christ. Right down to the feet which are the two witnesses found in the next chapter.

The 7 lampsticks or 7 thunders is the true body of Christ.

  • The book of life is in the kingdom of heaven.
Psalm 69:28
May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous.

Philippians 4:3
Yes, and I ask you, loyal yokefellow, help these women who have contended at my side in the cause of the gospel, along with Clement and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the book of life.

Revelation 3:5
He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.

Revelation 13:8
All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world.

Revelation 17:8
The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and will come up out of the Abyss and go to his destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come.

Revelation 20:12
And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

Revelation 20:15
If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Revelation 21:27
Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.
