(ATTITUDES OF THE SIN CONSCIOUSNESS)

Which of the following "Attitudes Of The Sin Consciousness" are adversly affecting your spirtual growth and development:

1. When I stand before God sometimes I have a sense of inferiourity, guilt, or condemnation.

"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned." - John 5:24
"Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." - Romans 8:1

2. The only destiny God has for me is the life I am living now.

"For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for Good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." - Ephesians 2:10
"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." - Philippians 1:6
"Forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:13,14

3. God is operating out side of me.

"I am the vine, your are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he beards much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." - John 15:5
"For it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure." - Philippians 2:13
"To whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory." - Colossians 1:27

4. Jesus lived on earth at a level above what I could ever hope to be.
"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of hevein; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven." - Matthew 16:19
"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works thatn these he will do; because I go to the Father. - John 14:12

5. My righteousness is to be obtained after I die and go tgo heaven.
"For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ." - Romans 5:17
"He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousnes of God in Him." - 2 Corinthians 5:21

6. Sometimes I do not feel like God has forgiven all my sins.
"If we confess your sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." - 1 John 1:9
"For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." - Colossians 1:13,14

7. Some days I feel like I am saved and some days I feel unsaved.
"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy." - Jude 24
"For we walk by faith and not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7
"Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." - Romans 10:13
"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household." - Acts 16:31

8. I can never be of real help to others because I keep sinning.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus." - Romans 3:23,24
"Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation." - 2 Corinthians 5:18

9. I will please God if I work on not sinning.

"And may be found in Him, not having a righteousnesss of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith." - Philippians 3:9
"And you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh? - Galatians 3:3
"But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace." - Romans 11:6

INTO ACTION:
1. Make a list of the sin consciousness attitudes that may be causing you a problem in your spiritual development.
2. Affirm and meditate on the indicated scriptures several times daily until the renewing of your mind is made real to your spirit.

1. When I stand before God sometimes I have a sense of inferiourity, guilt, or condemnation.
And you should.
After all that God has done to reconcile us to Him, we still sin and are unworthy of His grace and mercy.
But He is gracious and merciful to us anyway.

5. My righteousness is to be obtained after I die and go tgo heaven.
"Righteousness" is not a trait of our character.
It is not a "legal standing" before God.
It is the power of God by which He saves us.

From the teaching of the Message of the Cross - Pastor Jimmy Swaggart and Associate Pastor Loren Larson

Romans 4:5 - But to him who works not, but believes on Him Who Justifies the ungodlily, his faith is counted for Righteousness.

God awards Righteousness only on the basis of maintaining Faith exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work. Therefore it is imputed to the Believer as a spotless Righteousness. There is no sanctification in a Believers life if this is out of alignment. Justification must be solid in Believers heart and mind knowing this foundation truth (read Romans 3:21 through Romans 5:15). Until you embrace justification by faith and how to have a relationship with God by faith, sanctification is impossible because you don't have the foundation right.

The just shall live by faith. The just is a person who knows how they got that way, and knows how they stay that way. Therefore a Believer is looked upon by God as not stumbling in the promises of God. We are right with God solely on what we Believe.

Many Believers are struggling with works trying to stay saved because they don't understand justification. We are right with God not based on what we did today, but because our faith is in what Jesus Christ did for us 2000 years ago at Calvary. Because of our faith is in Christ and the Cross, the Blood covers our life and the Holy Spirit lives in us; working in us, helping us, transforming us, and much more. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh (works & law), but after the Spirit - Romans 8:1.

If the Believer doesn't understand and believe what makes us right with God, they will not understand progressive sanctification that transforms us into the image of Christ.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Many "believers" will be shocked to hear the Lord condemn them to eternal fire because they had none of the good works for which they were created by God to do. (Eph 2:10) They will have depended on their "belief" for their justification while ignoring that faith without works is dead and cannot save anyone because a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. (James 2)

That's what Jesus and Paul told us if we will believe what is written in the inspired, inerrant, infallible, sola scriptura.

Jesus said: John 5:28-29 (NKJV)… the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth—those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

Paul said: Ro 6:2-10 (NKJV) (God) will render to each one according to his deeds; eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness—indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

Jesus said: Mat 25:31-46 (NKJV) When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.

Then the King will say to those on His right hand, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.

Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, “Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?”
And the King will answer and say to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.”

Then He will also say to those on the left hand, “Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.”

Then they also will answer Him, saying, “Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to You?

Then He will answer them, saying, “Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.”

And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

God's prescribed order of victory must be maintained through the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2) (Gal. 2:20-21) by the Holy Spirit that brings forth works; Not by the good works of the flesh or through religion by giving yourself a check mark because you went to church or didn't watch pornography today, i.e., missed the mark and sinned. If God's prescribed order of victory is not followed, you have labored in vain; you have spent your strength for nothing at all. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can perform great works in our hearts and lives my maintaining faith in the Finished Works of Christ.

...he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, Titus 3:5 NIV

Brother Jim Parker,
The word, "righteous," does not pertain to the Righteousness of Christ given to Believers at Salvation, but instead, righteous dealings with Israel by various nations during the Great Tribulation. Read from Matthew 25:31-32 to understand that this is the second coming, the Judgement of Nations.

Faith works by love. Grace works by faith. No love, no faith. No faith, no Grace. No Grace, no salvation.

Ephesians 2:8-10 King James Version (KJV)

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Note: The "good works" the Apostle speaks of has to do with Faith in Christ and the Cross, which enables the Believer to live a Holy life. - Pastor Jimmy Swaggart Expositor's Study Bible

The biblical meaning of love:

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Amplified Bible (AMP)

4 Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. 5 It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. 6 It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. 7 Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].

8 Love never fails [it never fades nor ends]. But as for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for the gift of special knowledge, it will pass away.

Jimmy Swaggart?? Pastor??? Gimme a break.

The good works are exactly what Jesus described in Mat 25:31-46. Those who did them inherit the Kingdom; those who did not go to hell.

It's not about "living a holy life." It's about living a Christ-like life. Christ gave of himself that the world might be saved. That's what "good works" are about, not your personal holiness.

Good works are about letting you light so shine that men see your good works and praise the Father. (Mat 5:16)

Jesus said Believers can not do anything without Him. In other words, what man does dies, what Jesus does have eternal life. Imputed righteousness is awarded to the Believer by God if their faith is exclusively maintained in Christ and His Finished Work. The Holy Spirit then works in that parameter to keep commandments, produce good works, fruits, sanctification, Christ-likeness, faith to faith - glory to glory, and so much more. Our job as a Believer is to believe and rest. In other words, pick up your own Cross and receive all the benefits from it daily.

God has no punitive measures for His children. He only has corrective measures because He loves us because what Christ did on the Cross. And by faith we are restored with fellowship with Him.

Righteousness is not a "thing" or a "legal status" that is bestowed. It is the application of God's mercy to sinful people who repent, take up their cross, and follow Jesus.
Jesus finished work applies to all mankind, believer or not. All of mankind will be raised from the dead from the dead immortal and incorruptible. (1Cor 15:52-54)
Where each individual resurrected, immortal, and incorruptible person spends eternity is up to each individual. (John 5:28-29; Ro 6:2-10, Mat 25:31-46)

God has always loved all of mankind. His love for the world (Gr: KOSMOS) is demonstrated by the incarnation, passion, crucifixion, burial, resurrection, ascension, and sending of the Holy Spirit, not the result of what Jesus did on the cross. There was never a time when God did not love all of mankind and desire that all of mankind be saved. (John 3:16; 2Pe 3:9)
And by faith we are restored with fellowship with Him.
By faith, repentance, and obedience we are restored to fellowship. (Mat 7:21; Mat 21:28-31)

The notion that a true Christian need only to believe and need do nothing is a false teaching as demonstrated by the actions of the believers reported in The Acts of the Apostles. It is also clearly and thoroughly refuted by James in the 2nd chapter of his letter. Truly being a Christian requires that one act like Christ and let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. (Mat 5:16; Jhn 14:12; Rev 2:5)

I Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
