Is trying to live up to the Most Highs expectations making Christ a little less worthy and only exalting oneself?

I mean, correct me if im wrong but its imposible to live up to Gods expectations?

But people try to be righteous by not sinning so thats trying to live up to Gods expectations, or, they dont try yet think they are righteous and act all religious. And anyone who denies they have lust or tempations in this world is a liar, the lust of an eye, even for a split second.

Dan, all God expects is for us to attempt to be worthy. Since God knows that no man can ever live up to the Ten Commandments He doesn't expect us to but He expects some of us, the ones that love Him, to try.

Ephesians 2:10-22 will give you your answer as we are Gods workmanship and made righteous by that of Gods righteousness found in us as we continue in His good works that none of us should ever boast of our own. This is what God expects of us.

Just keep practicing. When you see Him, you will be just like Him. (Except creature not creator.) 1Jo 3:2
When you see Him you will say, "I am an unworthy servants; I have only done what was my duty." Luke17:10
Then He will say to you, "Well done, thou good an faithful servant!" Mat 25:21
Jus' keep on truckin'.

You know, I wonder how often these things on the nature of God, and His expectations, are simular to the nature of a parent raising a child. There might be a good an frequent reason why Jesus referee to God as Father, and told us to do the same. (For Jesus God is quite literally His Father. Even so Jesus told us to approach Him in the same way.)

In this instance, I wonder if the expectations of a parent is simular to the expectations of God. A parent might expect their kid to do right and have certain expectations. But at the same time they also know they are just a kid, and are not mature enough to always keep those standards. The parent might hold another adult to a higher set of maturity, and just try to teach, love, and discipline their children into mature caring and responsible adults.
