Well the lyrics is what makes the music bad not the instrumental parts of the music, I have seen Led Zep, Black Sabbath 2 times Grand Funk, Alice Cooper, Jethro Tull, you name them, I saw them except for Hendrix, I could not get the money for the tickets the last time that he was here. And now that I am a Christian if the lyrics are bad I will not listen to it. God knows that not everybody likes the same style of music, and as I said before man can't come up with nothing that was not in the mind of God first. So God allowed different types of music to come into man's mind. And what does stupid man go and do ? He goes and puts all kinds of nasty and godless lyrics to the music thereby tainting it. For instance the music that Black Sabbath plays is not bad within itself, it is the lyrics that make some of their stuff bad. Same with some of today's secular metal bands. Now today we have Christian rock, Christian metal, Christian R&B, and Christian jazz. Nothing is wrong with that music at all, you have groups like Flyleaf, and Kirk Franklin, who are Christians but take a contemporary approach. Christian metal can reach people where they are, Christian R&B can reach and meet the people where they are. But yet you have some ridged Christians calling Christian contemporary music the devil's music also, just like they do with secular rock. But some people you just can't satisfy no matter what you do. I know some people who think that if it is not old school Gospel music, it is the devil's music.
I still listen to secular music and sometimes I DJ and when I do, I play secular Oldies but Goodies music, many here know that I am a drummer and I have been in rock bands and funk bands and now I have started a Christian band that will do contemporary mostly, and a little old school Gospel.
