Since getting sober, Alice Cooper tells PEOPLE, “I have absolutely no desire to ever put alcohol in my mouth again, or any drug."

Hopefully Elton John will repent of homosexuality.

Being drug free is a great start.

I had to think before titling this thread. "Promoting Christianity" would have been something hard to swallow. So many, though, even in my own family, are taking too much of a relaxed stance with alcohol.

I'm not a fan of alcohol.i will not drink one pint ,cup of it .but I know that there is some who can .

It's not common but I know people that can handle it . I have gone to American icon brewery and with my pastor enjoyed a meal .my pastor had one of the brews .he didn't get drunk .

The brewery is a gastro pub .

My grandfather was rumored as a saint. What most people don't know is of the Friday night he came home drunk. I don't know what was said, but I do know after granny got through with him he never tried that the second time!

I find that it's great what Alice has done with his The Rock teen centers to bring teens closer to Christ. He's made some bold moves like standing up to a makeup label a few years ago because he wasn't going to promote LGBTQ being pushed on kids and the makeup company ended their contract with him. Paul Stanley has also caught a lot of hate for speaking out against LGBTQ being pushed on kids, too, although I'm not entirely certain what his faith is. :shrug

It's good when we see things go a positive direction. One thing leads to another and hopefully it will lead more and more people to Christ.

I dunno 🤷‍♂️

I’m glad famous people are advocating sobriety. I think it can only help especially for families with children and teens. And yet…

Personally I try not to listen too much to celebrities when they offer life advice. They’re rich they’re famous and they inhabit an entirely different strata of society than me and most people really.

Most recently, Ozzy Osbourne made it public that he heard the gospel before he passed away. He repented. How wonderful is that? People who confess the Lord openly should be upholded as an example of how someone who is popular has the wisdom to openly share that they Love Jesus and worship him. If you cannot say that, then you aren't really loving Christ and what he has done for you.

I heard that one before. Like in 1972.

The story went that Black Sabbath members all heard the gospel and "got saved" in the Jesus movement of the late 60s-early 70s. They had 2 albums out, and a following of those who ascribed to the dark arts. (witches, satanists, etc) So when Ozzy and Tony started preaching the gospel between songs, they started getting death threats. About this time their 3rd album "Masters of Reality" came out and had some borderline biblical references. Then an unnamed gunman took a pot shot during a concert, barely missing the drummer. They all recanted their professions of faith and went deeper into the dark arts.

"He who endures to the end shall be saved." Matt 10.22, 24.13

I will not judge whether he was actually saved or not. I hope he was.

I believe Alice's return to faith to be genuine. His father was an Assy of God pastor in the greater Detroit area. So the seeds were definitely there. I have been praying for him off and on since about 1970.

In 70's lingo I would consider any kind of Christian profession, "Cool." And also prayers for well being and that God would lead him into good paths.
