scary if that could have shut down the entire grid or power plants.

Indeed. Water plants have long been a soft target for terrorists. I moved to in home water filters and safe water long ago because by the time someone official catches a problem, it's probably too late for people like me.

IMO we would do better to spend the money from the TSA (who has just been proven to have done nothing in making us safer) and spend it on protection and surveillance of such soft targets...

Thanks for bringing this to people's attention (Yay Reuters! for once lol)

scada upgrades would do the trick. the problem is that it will cost americans alot. as not all grids are public. think fpl going down from st lucie one and two and atlanta loses power.

at a cost of $57 billion, TSA has mushroomed into a human resources bureaucracy of over 65,000 that has lost its transportation security focus.

I daresay there's plenty of money if we divert it from the pseudo-security of the TSA.

i am not a fan of the tsa. but again you assume that there arent private water grids.

where i work we have one on both sides and the poeple would indeed have to pay for that fix.

scada is used here. i have seen that on the job apps.
