Senate tackles gay marriage ban

The gays are not pushing anything. The Republicans who have divorced their spouses more than once seem to think the gays are causing their marriages to fail. We should hate the gays and not bother with the dead beat fathers who don't take care of their children or their ex-wives, but want to control others.

The perversion of sex with the horse is the mind that thinks about those things. You want an amendment to stop that. I don't think we need an amendment and I don't think a person should think about that either for or against. The thought is discusting.

Can you provide any documented facts that this was actually said by a number of divorced republicans? Sounds fishy.

I hate to hurt your feelings, but that sounds like the logic and rantings of a mad man.

Rod,

Ah, the old "our side is being tolerant, your not" arguement. Let me let you in on something. Are you sure you are tolerant of us? Are you trying to unite with us. Or is it only unity with the Homosexuals that you desire?

Hmmm ...can I call a friend?

By the way you keep speaking of your preist. Do you attend a Catholic Church?

I WAS going to 'cool it' as suggested by Vic, but I DO need to tell you, thess, that you evidently have me confused with someone else. I have NEVER spoken of 'my priest'. We don't have priests in the SDA Church. Would you mind getting your facts right on that? Thanks.

Society will not stand if gay marriage is allowed. God will not be mocked and will judge this nation accordingly if we allow his laws to be undermined.

Hopefully this measure passes, then the government won't have to spend anymore money on safeguarding the coasts from hurricane damage.

I didn't ask who was divorced peaceforall, those numbers are no surprise to me. I wouldn't be surprised if every politician in washington were divorced. I asked for quotes or proof that the divorced republicans blamed homosexuals for their divorces, as soma claimed.

How so? Homosexuals will possibly not marry someone of the opposite gender and reproduce whether they marry within 'their own kind' or not. So, why will 'life as we know it' cease to exist?

I can never understand this kind of an alarmist attitude. God hasn't destroyed us due to our rampant sexual immorality so far (been watching your TV lately?) so I doubt that a few homosexuals marrying each other will suddenly prompt God into action. To be placing all of the world's greed and immorality on to a marginal group of people is ...well, it's immoral.

That post was meant for Richard. Yes, I did have you confused. My apologies.

Your an SDA? Your moral theology certainly is not.

It's not about reproduction. I didn't say life as we know it will cease to exist.

Homosexuality is just the final straw. Greed, corruption, Abortion, sexual promiscuity, drug addition etc. etc. have all contributed along the way to the eventual moral decay to where we are at.. Study the Romans and Greeks and the last things that went on before their fall. Roman Generals were having boy lovers follow them around.

RCC has been standing through corruption and hypocrisy and now many protestants are following them and we are still standing, dear.

God bless you ginger.

Can we cut out the finger-pointing, please? We are talking about nations and society as a whole, not "religious" denominations. God will deal with His 'elect' as He sees fit.

2 Chronicles 7:13 If I shut up the heavens and there is no rain, and if I command the locusts to consume the land, and if I send pestilence among My people,
2 Chronicles 7:14 and My people, on whom My name is called, shall be humbled, and shall pray, and shall seek My face, and shall turn back from their evil ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:15 Now My eyes shall be open, and My ears attentive to the prayer of this place; (LITV)

The Republicans are against gays because they feel they are more of a threat than the Taliban.

It is like the vice president shooting America in the heart with the war and a lawyer in the face and then he wants us to appologize to him.

The president vacations before 9/11 hides on 9/11 and doesn't prepare us for another attack after 9/11, attacks the wrong country and mis-manages the war and Republicans want us to declare him a War president.

Republicans give our surplus to the rich, let corruption become the culture of the day, torture and shoot foreigners and Americans be wiretaped, a violation of the constitution, but they want to change the constitution to protect marriage. They can't even protect their own marriage, but they are worried about ours. My marriage is not threatened by gay marriage.

The GOP has declared war on gay Americans. Why are we passing an amendment to protect the sanctiy of marriage if a gay marriage is not threatening it? It must be to foster hate so Republicans can recruit more haters for their votes.

"The GOP has made it perfectly clear that gays and lesbians and their relationships are a threat to the fabric of society. As American citizens and voters we have the right to know if Ken Mehlman's (An accused gay Republican) so-far-undisclosed relationships are posing such a threat or not. The last thing the GOP should be doing is giving a position of prominence in the party to someone who, for all we know, might have a secret agenda of undermining the family...

"The Republican National Committee is an organization that makes NO BONES about using gay-bashing to help Republican candidates. There is good reason to believe that any RNC chair, were he not 100% straight, would be at pains to effectively run an organization that relies on gay-bashing to get its way. Don't red-state Americans have the right to know if the leader of their party, whomever it turns out to be, actually embraces the party's preferred lifestyle?

"We have been told that part of President Bush's supposed "mandate" in the most recent election was a vindication of his attack on gays.

That's it! Thank soma for what I'm about to do.

We will not continue to allow this advocating of the homosexual agenda here.

Nine pages... I can hardly believe we let itgo that long. :sad
