Sexual intimacy

I am newly married, and my hubby and I are in our 50s. We have not yet consummated our marriage, as hubby has been unable to.... He's extremely affectionate and we have a very close physical relationship, just not the ultimate. Is there anyone out there who's experienced anything like this, male or female? We both are committing this to the Lord, being patient, and he has a doctor appointment soon, which will hopefully bring some answers. He has never been married before, and I have. During his long single life he'd asked the Lord to take away his desire for sexual things because he wanted to remain pure. He's not a virgin, but it's been many years since he's been with a woman. I hope this is appropriate to post here. It's extremely personal, and I want to treat it with utmost respect. I love him very much. Thank your for any help.

I believe the Lord can fix anything and since you all remained pure during the courting period, I strongly believe the Lord will bless the marriage in all areas. I can understand how you feel, wanting to completely share yourself with your husband, and being a man, I can understand probably his frustration. But nothing is too big for God and he will fix it and the sparks will fly soon enough. Be patient and watch the Lord move. With some much advancement in the medical field in that area, I'm sure whatever issue will be fixed and he will be back on track.

Thank you for your encouraging words, 23 Psalm. I can't believe we've been married a whole month now! We're both so happy and content with our loving relationship and quality time, though still looking forward to the total fulfillment. He has gone for a blood workup, and the doctor said that after they see the results, it may be determined he needs testosterone shots. I hope it's that simple! Still trusting God.

ebizereth,
How are things going?
In their 50's many men who have not been sexually active in a long time need an erectile dysfunction medication such as Viagra to get the blood flowing down there. I hope he has seen a doctor and gotten things straightend out.

Since we are all adults here is the main issue, erection? I dont mean to be dull just wanted to clarify, I also didnt want to assume. Because it can be a combination of emotinal and physical issues. PS, it took alot of courage to bring this up, I bet you are an amazing wife.
