we call those ranges. can you explain without violating opsec what exactly that camp is? have you thrown a live grenade? I have two years ago, if they do like we do they should have a blast bunker for the observer and cover for the thrower that he drops down in to protect him from the shrapnel.

Whoa that sounds like a lot of fun. Camping in the woods and blow up some stuff. You'll probably enjoy yourself! :thumbsup

There are probably some strict safety protocols to ensure everyone will return home in one piece. So you guys are probably more in danger of catching a cold out there at this time of the year than of getting injured by some grenade. Anway, I'll be praying for you.

of course., I have run the ranges of some weapons(.50 cal and 9mm) .we use a tower and safeties and have firing orders and sequences of when targets come up. its not realistic at all. its not meant to be. its just to practice the basisc of shooting. ie stable firing platform, aim, trigger squeeze and breathing, transition from left to right.

This is not a critical question, but are you also with the NRA?

Blessings.

no,shooting is shooting no matter where and whom you do it for there is simply basic means of shooting that must be mastered. I don't own a gun. I have shot numerous times for the army and army guard. I shot the 9mm and shotgun last month. I had to its part of the course I had to take. I qualified as I usually do.i have to qualify on the 9mm, the shotgun and the m16 once a year. all this does is kept the basics as I posted up to par. it doesn't mean that Im advanced as one must also shoot from a moving vehicle at times. shoot while walking, and also reload from these positions. something I haven't done in a while. no to mention the most excellent shoot and no shoot training that we need to do.theres more to shooting in war then just point and squeeze.

Training is training, and those members of the public who feel good about criticizing gun training would also be the first to criticize if the authorities were slow to confront a violent fanatic who was putting them in danger.

Blessings.

I know I have debated those nuts on here and elsewhere. of course believe it or not cops and military officers/leaders may not be pro gun either. reba, can we split this thread? I prefer not derail this. I have explained less then-lethal weapons and tasers and oc spray to them too. I have been sprayed and tazed. If I have to be hit with less then lethal then I prefer the tazer. once its done its done.

I guess guns cease to be relevant when crazies cease to exist...

Blessings.

You & all involved with this adventure, AIR , are in my prayers. Please let us know how it turned out, if possible, when you return!

hey,

we're back from the woods, we were there 4 nights and we're all okay now! Yes, we threw live grenade it was quite cool but it felt very dangerous when I carried it. We threw them from a foxhole and we get into cover afterwards. It was a camping in the forest, we had night ambush shooting, assault, grenades and normal shooting range.

I didn't enjoy that much! Here in Finland nights are very cold. It was raining all the time and it was very cold all the time, we woke up at 5:30 am and the day last till night, it was very frustrating but somehow it was nice. Typical army stuff.

I'd like to thank our Lord, Jesus Christ that we all survived from that camp! It wasn't that dangerous as I thought but I know that Lord was there with me.

Amen, AIR ! Glad to learn you survived the camping and military fun & games.

You're right: Our Lord was there with you ... He never abandons us!
